More than two weeks past the Common Application launch date, about 180 member colleges have yet to post complete applications on the Common App site.
Missing are key college-specific questions and writing supplements—the uncommon parts of the Common Application—without which applications cannot be completed.
Luckily, most of these colleges have revised their websites and provided essay prompts for the 2013-14 application season. But they won’t be seeing any completed applications yet, because until applicants can click through the college-specific questions, nothing can be submitted.
For the majority of Common Application members, however, the application season is well underway. And as usual, they’ve come up with some really challenging and sometimes unconventional writing assignments.
