Have you ever been touched, deeply touched, by a song? Sure you probably have. Music can make us cry or laugh. It can make us sad or happy. Music is a wonderful gift from God given to mankind for different purposes.
Music reaches to the very core of our being. It can speak to our heart. It can help us with our daily struggles and can change the mood we are in. One example of music changing someone's mood is the story of Saul in the bible.
The story of this is found in 1 Samuel 16:23 which says, “it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took a harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.”
Music can be used to draw us closer to the Lord and usher in his presence. The word of God says, “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness. Come into his presence with singing” (Psalm 100:1-2).
These are only a couple of things that music can do for the soul. The history of music can be traced throughout the bible. So the next time you are feeling downcast put on some anointed music from one of the talented men of God from this list and feel the refreshing that can come.
Note: This list is not intended to be a top ten or best of list. All of these men sing for the glory of God and are very talented in ministering with the gifts God has given to them. Check them out sometime and you will be blessed by their music.
