10 best choices to play Han Solo in the new Star Wars movie

News broke yesterday via HuffingtonPost.com that Harrison Ford is possibly on board to be in the new J.J. Abrams Star Wars film. It could be week or months until we get official word but is he too old to reprise his role as Han Solo? I think so, which brings me to my first list here, my top 10 choices to play Han Solo in the new Star Wars trilogy.

  • Another long shot to get the role, but his success in Lincoln,  Looper, The Dark Knight Rises and Inception to name a few, coupled with his young look and ability to play diverse characters, makes him a solid choice. 
  • No list for potential Han Solo's can't include him. I doubt he would do it, but my wife said I had to include him to bring in the ladies to the theater so here he is. 
  • Sam is one of those names that kept coming up in talks back in November for playing the role of Han Solo. He has that "goofy" persona to pull off the role but he may not be on the radar of the big wigs at Disney. 
  • Seth may be the biggest long-shot on the list because of his very busy work schedule and size, but he is a genuine fan of Star Wars, was married on Skywalker Ranch and has close ties to the Star Wars community would be great for the role. 
  • Peter Parker is Han Solo? Han Solo was Indiana Jones so why not! He may be too busy filming The Amazing Spider-Man 2 but I think he would make a great Han!
  • He was in Fanboys - he needs this role! He would kill at this role. Okay, Seth Green probably had a better shot at it as Jay seems booked to 2015 filming, but I think he would drop it all to play Han.
  • Best know for The Adventures of Tintin (2011), Jumper (2008) and Billy Elliot (2000) - Jamie could bring that English charm to the role of Han that just might work.
