Avengers: Endless Wartime marks the start of Marvel Comics' latest original graphic novel initiative, as well as the return of comics wunderkind Warren Ellis to superheroes. No stranger to capes and tights, Mike McKone provided art for the OGN. In Wartime, a threat from Captain America and Thor's past comes back to haunt them, and the whole team learns that like old mistakes, war never truly goes away.
Ellis has found acclaim as the writer of titles like The Authority for Image, his own Transmetropolitan for DC comics, and the "Extremis" arc of Iron Man. McKone is no slouch, helping out Geoff Johns on Superman: Secret Origin and Judd Winnick on Exiles. However, Endless Wartime manages to land a little flat. Check out what was Awesome and what was Stupid.
