Where have I been? Why haven’t I written for examiner.com lately? Believe it or not, I’ve been trying to figure out what to write about. Not because there was nothing to write about, but because there seemed to be way too much. Problem is … every day I sat down to my laptop, I began my column and then stopped myself ….
What am I doing? Do I really want to write something funny about Tiger Woods? Or Michael Jackson, or Adam Lambert, or the former Miss California or Levi Johnston or Sarah Palin., the White House party crashers, or David Letterman or the balloon boy (anybody remember him?).
Am I out of my mind? Maybe I am. But mostly I’m nauseas from boredom. Because I don’t think that there’s one blessed thing left to say about any of these people, funny or serious. By anybody. Not even if you are Wolfe Blitzer or Anderson Cooper or Larry King or Keith Olbermann or Bill O’Reilly or Katie Couric or Brian Williams or Dianne Sawyer, or you’re a special correspondent for Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, The Insider, Inside Edition, Showbiz Tonight, Headline News, The Today Show, The View, ESPN, Real Sports or the Golf Channel.
Where are the days when news was news, entertainment was entertainment and sports were sports? Now they’re all mixed up in ubiquity and we can’t seem to get away from it. My Bubby would never believe all this if she were still here with me. Hey, maybe I can write to her to tell her about this crazy world. Yeah, that’s what I’ll do. As soon as I can figure out what to write about that wouldn’t bore me to tears. As soon as that happens, I’ll write again. In the meantime, Happy Holidays.

You are so right on! I don't want to hear or read another word about any of these people or topics. I miss Walter Cronkite...
Ain't that the truth?! If you hear something once I guess that's okay. But to hear it ad nauseum is just plain boring.
I want news on news shows and my laughs from Ellyn.
the non-bowlers rock band reunion might bring some laughs (if only to us!)
I only get my news from Jon Stewart. It was great to see your column! Have a happy, healthy, creative 2010.
glad you're back!
