The list of Florida Libertarian candidates expands

Libertarian-branded candidates running for public office continues to expand in Florida and across the nation. Florida candidates for the November, 2010 election are springing up just about everywhere and there are more to come.

Most recently Thomas Snider has put his name in the hat running for U.S. Congress in Florida's 12th district.

This week Mr. Snider made this statement via his Facebook page, "After much deliberation, thought, consulting with friends and soul searching, I have decided that I can no longer abide by the politics of the Republican Party. They are no longer the party I joined back when I was 18. As they have consistantly moved left in their governing model I have found myself on an ever increasing fringe of the party where the views I hold are no longer the same as the views of the party."

Thomas Snider has made the transition from the Republican Party to the Libertarian Party as he feels the Republican Party has left its core principles.

Mr. Snider is one of many changing over the Libertarian Party, either as a member, a registered voter, or as a candidate. As dissatisfaction grows with the two older political parties, individuals are doing some soul searching and are giving up on strategy and aligning themselves with political parties that represent their values. Through this process it is clear the Libertarian Party is growing to become an influential player in Florida politics.
