Anti-gay group takes (expensive) cheap shots at gays and LDS church

"America First" is an anti-gay organization that has gone on the offensive and taken out a full page ad in the Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune with the intention of protesting the recent events and press coverage favourable to homosexuals.

With the passage of Washington State's "Everything But Marriage" and other similar actions across America favouring homosexuals, it seems that this local group sees these victories as loses and as such they feel an urgent need to announce their perspective.

On their website they claim to be speaking for the conservative underdogs that need to organize better by signing up for the email newsletter, then getting ten friends to sign up too. The only thing left out was the threat that if you did not act within twenty four hours something very horrible would happen to a loved one. Actually, they give just a little bit more time than that, but the warning is as dire.

But there is a darker, less Christian side to "America First". Not the least of which is the renaming of homosexuals as "anti-species" (dubbed so due to the claim that homosexuals do not continue the human species) continuing that they are depraved and threatening the sanctity of American children and families with their liberal agenda. The more I read the ad and later their web site, the clearer it became that this group just needs to repent and reevaluate their agenda.

Drawing angry lines in the sand between gays and non-gays is akin to having white and non-white public and private services. The difference is that instead of moving in the direction of inclusive and respectful society, "America First" chooses to waste boundless amounts of energy and money on a non-enemy.

Additionally, the mere mention that the homosexuals could somehow control the Mormon church to any end is laughable. If the church coincidentally acts in a way that favours the homosexuals in Utah (or anywhere else, for that matter) it would be like being upset at a broken clock that happens to be right twice a day, no matter what time it says it is.

What is equally amazing is that with the bad grammar, and poorly structured arguments, that they were able to raise enough money to put a full page ad in two metro papers. Have you, per chance, seen any full page ads for the Green or Libertarian Party lately? I would assume that if a third party came up with enough funds to do a full page ad it would not be turned down if it had the same amount of cash as "America Forever".

Fun to see the liberal media put a positive bias for the gays. Nothing like demeaning those of different races and comparing them to the gays.

Fun to see a group take taxpayers dollars and control, by force of law, how another group lives?!?

    Liberal means FREE.

This article is Libertarian promoting socially tolerant and fiscally responsible government. Your distaste for gays does NOT grant you sudden authority over how they live, just as anyone's distaste for your rights does NOT grant them power over you.

Until you learn that finer point, you will remain an expensive authoritarian blight on the political scales of injustice.
