In short, less is more.
- Privatize government assets. Governments all over the world have been selling power plants, airlines, housing, and factories back to private holders. What were ineffective money-eaters under government control, became vibrant profitable companies when its ownership's personal success was actually tied to the company's success.
- Take the countries that can defend themselves off of military welfare. If we were to cut off active defense of such countries as Germany and Japan, we could save around $100 billion per year in taxes.
- Stop bailing out industry. Unfortunately, we have only gone backwards on this one recently, but what happened? The Feds wouldn't let GM file bankruptcy, claiming they were "too big" to fail. Subsequently fired their CEO, gave them a tax payer funded bailout, and soon therafter forced them to file bankruptcy. 'Nuff said.
- Kick the Fed out of the charity business. In cutting onerous taxes, Libertarians strive to reduce the necessity for such programs by allowing for job growth. Add to that, that most of our taxes apportioned to "welfare" go to welfare workers' salaries. Very little gets to the people who need it and private organizations do the same job much more efficiently.
- Before 1913 federal income taxes were temporary and very rare, but that was before we became the world's nanny. People took responsibility for their own and found it easier to do when the government wasn't taking from them to pay for the people who lacked the same sense of community. Subsequently, less people lacked a sense of responsibility to their community; funny how that works isn't it? And closer to how the framers intended it.

As in the case of Murray Rothbard or Lysander Spooner. Taxation is theft
