LP candidate to appear on Texas House 105 stage

Texas House District 105 sits smack dab in the middle of the Metroplex, wedged between Dallas and Ft. Worth where it swallows up nearly all of the city of Irving.

And smack dab in the middle of the political fight for this seat sits Libertarian Party candidate Cecil Anthony Ince, actor, standup comic, musician, filmmaker, blogcaster, video producer, voiceover talent, small business owner, ordained minister, and politician.

  State Representative, House District 105

Ince, it seems, has tried his hand with varying degrees of success in virtually every phase of the performing arts (many would include "ordained minister" in that category) so jumping into political theatre should be a natural progression for him.

And in fact this isn't his first time hoofing the political hardboards.

In 2002 he ran for Missouri State Rep as the Libertarian Party candidate where, unsurprisingly, he produced, wrote, and did voiceover for his own radio campaign commercials that aired on Springfield stations.

Two years later, again producing all of his own radio ads, Ince ran as a Libertarian for Missouri Secretary of State, garnering just under 52,000 votes, which he claims is the highest number ever achieved by any LP candidate for that office.

Ince has performed his "Eli Todd"
character in his comedy skit "A Straight
Jacket Comedy Routine" in top comedy
 clubs throughout the Metroplex.

Ince returned to the Metroplex when he was accepted by KD Studio, a film and acting school in Dallas, and has lived in Irving since 2008.

Ince, 34, was born in Fort Worth and became a member of the Libertarian Party in 1995. His campaign website describes him as "A Defender of Liberty -A Real Jeffersonian."

The Issues page on Ince's site is currently a work in progress (it's still early in the campaign) but there's a promise of position statements on Eminent Domain, Economics, Real Estate Taxes and more for future supporters to check out later.

While Ince the performer is accustomed to audiences coming to him, Ince the campaigner is taking his act on the road. He has a Dallas Morning News interview coming up in February, he is negotiating a speaking engagement at North Lake College, and his Campaign Kick-Off Party is definitely on for Friday, February 5 at Los Lopes in Irving.

I think well of this gentleman as an individual, and not only as a candidate. I hope he wins; we could use more folks like him in office.
