Common Ground America is new cross-party movement

News from the liberterrain…

On January 21 at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden local activist Adrian Murray will explain how to effectively hold all politicians of all parties accountable.

At a meeting that included Tarrant County Libertarian Party Chair John Spivey and libertarian blogger Allen Patterson of Whited Sepulchre fame, Murray revealed plans for a new political movement spanning all party lines designed to hold elected officials responsible.

Now, following release of his new book, Common Ground America: A Blueprint For American Renewal, the "Local grassroots organizer/rabble rouser/friend of Tarrant County Libertarians" is going public with the official launch of his new nationwide political organization, Common Ground America.

The ambitious goal of the new organization is "to preserve and restore the American Republic."

"I think Common Ground America will be particularly of interest to third parties," Murray told the Dallas Libertarian Examiner. "The overriding aim of the organization will be to break the death grip the Republican and Democratic parties have on our political system by creating a third political entity that will overstep the district boundaries that only serve the interests of the parties, not the people."

Spivey describes Murray as "skewing a bit more right" (he's a candidate for chair of the Tarrant County Republican Party) but also points out that Murray "has always been very inclusive with us libertarians."

This especially holds true with his activism in Trinity River Improvement Partnership (TRIP), a grassroots organization that has attracted support from across the North Texas political spectrum in opposition to the "boondoggle" of the Trinity River Vision Project

An indication of how serious Murray is about Common Ground America, the official launch announcement will be preceded by radio promotions running 70 times on KLIF and KSKY starting January 16.

"Adrian has put together rallies that have drawn many thousands," Spivey points out, and that includes inviting Libertarian Party candidates to speak at his events.

So how will Common Ground America work?

"The concept," Murray explains, "is based on the same process that produced the Constitution, which transferred power from the state governments to the federal one. Worked once and will work again."

Says John Spivey, "it seems like he just may be on to something here."
