Guns. Better than sex?
A recently published Rasmussen poll reveals how much Republicans love their guns, and based on their vocal hate for liberals, one can only conclude that to a Republican, his or her gun is more important than any living breathing liberal, any day.
The same conservative Republicans who claim life is sacred, even life that has not yet taken one breath of air, is more important than anyone who would dare subscribe to liberal views.
The Rasmussen poll asked whether the Constitution guarantees the right to own a gun?
75% of the Americans polled stated positively that the Constitution guarantees their right to own a gun. The disparity between Conservatives and Liberals is evident with 92% of the Republicans answering “yes,” 64% of the Democrats, and 71% of “others” believing that as Americans the Constitution protects their right to bear arms.
When asked about why there has been a sudden spike in gun sales since Barack Obama took office as President of the United States, 57% fear increased government restrictions. 23% said it was because they feared crime, and 20% were unsure why.
Americans polled by Rasmussen, revealed a statistic Republicans would rather not hear when it comes to the question of gun control. In a tie, respondents were split at 44% whether stricter gun control laws were or were not needed, with 12% unsure. This result was almost matched along party lines, with 63% of the Republicans polled stating they opposed stricter gun laws and 62% of the Democrats polled saying that stricter gun control laws are needed.
Rasmussen conducted a poll in October of 2008, before the presidential election, and found that 63% of U.S. voters believed that Barack Obama would be more likely to to restrict gun rights than his Republican opponent John McCain, with 84% of the Republicans fearing strict gun control out of an Obama White House. As Obama’s lead in the polls increased, so did gun and ammunition sales, in a desperate run to stock up on weapons and ammo before they hit the feared “barack-ade.”
So what is it about the cold hard steel of firearms that holds such hypnotic sway among so many devout Christian soldiers? The answer is part rural heritage, and part a deep inbred distrust of the federal government, especially a liberal led government.

As a conservative I can say yes I do love my guns more then libs. However, I would use my guns to protect a lib if I needed to. Doers that answer your question?

In fairness, it should be noted that advocates of civilian disarmament rarely employ rationality in their reasoning.
Most of the people who oppose guns are the weak and fearful who won’t defend their own and depend on the government for that. I don’t need the government in my neighborhood, I’ll take care of my home, if you just let me.
Frank, you answered the nonsensical question. It really doesn't desrve that much attention. William, my question to you is: Why do liberals hate morality, marriage, the American family arrangement, unborn babies, capitalism, self reliance, the republic, and the U.S. Constitution?
The answer is absolutely YES!!! The guns can serve you a multiple purpose: They can protect you. You can enjoy collecting them or use them for target practice. On the other hand what liberals can do for you besides eating away your constitutional rights?
You yourself point out that 75% of all Americans, regardless of politics, believe that the Second Amendment protects their personal Right to keep and bear arms.
Is this perhaps why you have to twist this story into a contrived "Conservatives vs Liberals" rant?
How else do you justify your "Us vs Them" existence, if people actually start to realize that can agree on some things in our society - We just can't have that now can we?
I agree with Ben and Frank.....plus, you seem to be confused and have a little bit of an agenda.
The second amendment is attacked by 80-90% of democrats and 5-15% of republicans. I think it is clear which side respects the constitution and who thinks it's necessary to control people by trying to ban guns and ammo. I don't like democrats because they want to inflict their will on everyone. Ban guns, tax me to death so they can feel good about give away programs to the lazy ones who won't get a job.

In a word, "yes." Why would I hold any affection for those who seek to destroy the liberty this country has known for over 200 years?
While I do not hate liberals, I believe in "loving the sinner but hating the sin" so to speak. I would however like to present you with a metaphor. In this country we have a partnership, like it or not, left and right. It is somewhat like a marriage. Now, we disagree on the right to bear arms. However, no one on the right has ever tried to force those who are on the left to own guns. In contrast, liberals attempt to create laws to imprison those of us who do wish to possess arms. In a marriage like the one we have, what would you advise one member to do when the other member becomes abusive and tries to violate the rights of the other?
I do care more about my guns than I do about what liberals think.

As usual the folk parading as intellectuals put together a seemingly logical argument then expose their own bias by taking a flying leap into the weeds in the conclusions by making a presumption all the gun owners or all Republicans are Christian. How about backing that up with some statistics like the rest of the presentation?

It's really not that hard to understand, William Skordelis. If you could get past your own bias, selective misunderstanding, and twisting of words, you would see that conservatives do NOT believe that life in and of itself is sacred. The principles underlying the path to the American dream are what are sacred to conservatives. And we believe that life is made sacred through the devotion and defense of the principles underlying our republic - justice, liberty, responsibility, and accountability. We are not naive. We know what the ultimate goal of liberals is and it is subjugation, control, and the undermining of these principles. Liberal lust for tyranny will not go unchallenged, fortunately, and the increase in arms purchases only reveals what conservatives intuitively understand...that freedom is not free. Ultimately, conservatives will shed blood as so many other patriots have as the cost for preserving the rights liberals so eagerly wish to take.
