CoffeePartyUsa.com: "MISSION: The Coffee Party Movement gives voice to Americans who want to see cooperation in government. We recognize that the federal government is not the enemy of the people, but the expression of our collective will, and that we must participate in the democratic process in order to address the challenges that we face as Americans. As voters and grassroots volunteers, we will support leaders who work toward positive solutions, and hold accountable those who obstruct them."
Down the road, when the right-wing talking heads try to paint the Coffee Party Movement as some George Soros-funded operation . . . you heard it here. It started as a Facebook movement, when 41-year-old documentary filmmaker Annabel Park posted this status:
"let's start a coffee party . . . smoothie party. red bull party. anything but tea. geez. ooh how about cappuccino party? that would really p**s 'em off bec it sounds elitist . . . let's get together and drink cappuccino and have real political dialogue with substance and compassion."
Wrote one F/B CPM member: "Let's discard the labels that divide and obfuscate reality such Democrat, Republican, conservative & liberal. Those words just create & perpetuate the illusion that politics is like a football game. One team wins, the other loses. That's just not accurate & it is a distraction. Democracy is not a zero sum... game. We all lose if we don't come together as a country right now."
Let's look at the two movements for a moment, the rabidly right-wing, predominantly white, racist, and right-wing-funded Tea Party Movement, and the fledgling, but increasingly popular, grassroots Coffee Party Movement.
Tea Party Movement: Revolt against President Obama. Revolt against government. Revolt against healthcare reform. Revolt (allegedly) against big government spending (a new fury; Bush's trillions seem to have been overlooked). Revolt against anyone who they believe will try to disarm them. Revolt against the notion that President Obama was born in Hawaii, and not Kenya. Revolt against the
"galloping socialist agenda."
Revolt, revolt revolt; anti-, anti-, anti-.
The Tea Party Movement waves the flag of "if you're not for us, you're against us," and its violent imagery serves to drive that point home.
The Coffee Party Movement waves the flag of coming together as a country.
The Tea Party Movement waves the flag of non-cooperation.
The Coffee Party Movement waves the flag of participation in and cooperation with the democratic process.
The Tea Party Movement brooks no opposition from its purpose of hate, anger, racism and uniting against progressives.
The Coffee Party Movement is a multi-racial group who wants a dialogue with all Americans.
The Tea Party Movement is filled with -- to borrow the words of Wall Street Journal editorialist Dorothy Rabinowitz in describing Ron Paul’s followers -- “conspiracy theorists, anti-government zealots, 9/11 truthers, and assorted other cadres of the obsessed and deranged."

Even though you're Dunkin and I'm Starbucks (actual coffee-wise; nothing to do with any sort of metaphor), Jules, I'm totally with ya! Coffee all the way - AND up with what this symbolic counter-movement stands for! And, hey, what are they doing over at that so-called "tea party" - and those aren't tea bags they're all dunking into their mouths!! My god...Oh, no!!!
Indiana's fans are 250 strong and more are joining every hour. We are planning for National Coffee Party day on March 16. For details, visit www. coffeepartyusa.org.
Dunkin, Starbucks, the local diner, the truck stop -- a brew for everyone!
If you are going to start a movement and a party, start one that every person can join. Start a Beer Party Movement. Beer brings people of divergent views together to debate, argue, persuade, finger point, and have a good time whilst doing so. People can discuss politics, social issues, and sports over beer without parting as rabid enemies. Beer engenders friendship, congeniality, and like coffee and tea, is temporary. It is only rented, never owned.
I joined last week and could not be happier about it. Can't wait until the teabaggers and Fear News start to put their spin on it.
Thanks for showcasing a real grassroots movement Julie.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Hahahaha... you're a joke. You call all tea party members racists, what hater you are! How long have you had this irrational fear? You really should seek professional help immediately. And put the tin foil up.... then try to open your closed mind.
There is an hysterically funny video circling the web.
There is this little asian woman , whose cute as a button. She standing on a street corner talking to a camera. She's trying to promote the coffee movement while giving her opinions on the obstructionists in Congress.
After about 30 seconds she just starts to ramble on and on repeating herself , looking for the right words to conclude her little video. Looking ....looking....repeating ...fidgeting , wishing she had a few key words written on her hand....fidgeting....more repeating. Finally the pedestrians lose their patience and just start walking between her and the camera.
Karma was shining on her. Fortunately, while she is a total ditz , the working public made her point for her.

Tea party, coffee party, whatever. As long as it drives a wedge between right and left and makes the country ungovernable, I am for it. What needs to happen is a reset. The ability that that the pols have to decide where and how money and influence goes must be severely reduced. We have to reduce the power that politicians' have, put them in a sand box with limits, before we can go forward. That happy days seems far off to me, so in the mean time lets keep that pot boiling, maybe it will explode.
Where does the coffee party stand on important issues like Iran War & Amnesty?
this is id the dumbest thing ive ever seen.
The coffee party is the biggest racist scam going. Coffee is black unless you add something to it so they are sayin if you don't like black you have to add something to it. What is the matter with black? Seems like decaf to me. Over produced with too many additives. Oh, and didn't Annabel Park work for the times as a strategic analyst? So what. Like that makes grounds for it not being grass roots. Yea right. Gullibles will always be gullibles.
The proof that Coffee is fraudulent partisan front group:

As for your weak race card BS, calling the Tea Parties white and racist...blacks only make up about 12% of the population. Mostly white MEANS mainstream. And racist? Your link doesn't work. Let's see your proof.
Don't worry, we all know this is liberal for "I have no counterpoint."
Yes, we are REVOLTING against fiscal insanity. We are AGAINST Constitution-trampling government takeovers. We are OPPOSED to destroying the economy by putting the least effective mechanism ever devised (government) in charge of the one industry we have left that still works.
But being against time-disproven ideas makes us "revolt, revolt, revolt, anti, anti, anti."
What a mindless pile of emotional BS.
Here it is again, you have fell for the brainwashings. This is NOT a democracy that they will have you believe. They want you to think you can vote away rights. This a constitutional republic based on democratic principals. You are perpetuating the myth that we have a democracy...this is a lie, [please stop doing that, because you are helping the elites lie to our next generation, so they will vote away their and our rights. Stop the lies!! You cannot vote away rights, you cannot force me to do things because you voted, thats not how it works in a republic. This also protects you from me and my friends voting to have you thrown in ovens!! In a "democracy" that is possible!!! In a republic, that is IMPOSSIBLE!!! Stop perpetuating that we are a democracy, it is going to bite you someday if it hasnt already.
"The Tea Party Movement brooks no opposition from its purpose of hate, anger, racism and uniting against progressives."
It may be too late for you, you are in the left/right trap. Oh, the other side is mean...you know, this is the same trick the CIA uses on us to get support for wars, its called demonizing the enemy, so when we go kill them, no one cares. Our mainstream media is RIDDLED with CIA doing this to ALL of us...stop watching MSM!! Look up your "hosts" in the big alphabet neas agencies and see who "used" to work for the CIA...you never stop working for the CIA. Get your heads out of eachothers a**es and pay attention to what you are doing, they mind f%$#ed you! Throw your TVs in the garbage!!!
"CoffeePartyUsa.com: "MISSION: The Coffee Party Movement gives voice to Americans who want to see cooperation in government. "
They ARE working together, to dupe you into writing garbage like this. You fell for it and gladly do it...they are laughing at you for doing their work for them in perpetuating lies started by them!! They have th ILLUSION of difference and the illusion of partisan politics, they are two wings of the same bird, the sooner you realize this, the sooner you wake from the brainwashing you didnt even know happened to you!!
They are working together to NOT include we the people in any decisions. The tea party was hijacked and the coffee party is the polar opposite to give the illusion of difference when they dont want you to pay attention to the group behind the curtain pulling the strings on both sides. These people are so rich, power is the entertainment watching you be controlled by them, and you dont even know it!!
