Even the most tree-suckling, bleeding-heart liberal should be conscious enough to realize that the Barack Hussein Obama presidency should not be given a free pass from scrutiny and criticism. Just because a man seems almost super-intelligent and ultra-coherent when compared to the previous leader of the free world doesn't mean he is above wrongdoing and corruption, and he must be held accountable if such things come to pass.
Just as the most gun-toting, bible-thumping, pro-life-until-birth conservative should know better than to shout baseless rhetoric comparing a democratically elected official (who can easily be voted out after 4 years) to a Nazi or communist hell-bent on creating a fascist dictatorship in America and destroying the very fabric of society from within. Believe me, evangelical church leaders and corporate CEO's are doing a fine job of that already.
But tell that to Fox News, the most watched cable news network in all the land, and their army of brainwashed legions. For most of the enlightened, the very idea of Fox as a legitimate news outlet is laughable. They are undermined at every turn by people who easily see through the charade, but their detractors alone aren't solely responsible for exposing this joke of a “news” network.
Their legitimacy is destroyed daily from within. Their downfall will be an inside job.
And the reasoning is agonizingly simple: you can't purport to be a News Organization if your broadcasting day is comprised solely of bashing the Obama Administration, in every conceivable shape and form, when you've just spent the previous 8 years trumpeting the Bush-Cheney regime as the savior of the western world. There is zero Fair and Balanced reporting happening when you're totally in bed with one administration and then, before the next has even unpacked their bags, spin a complete 180 and trounce every policy idea, every thought, even choices of condiments for a burger, from its absolute beginning, at every available opportunity. Their most beloved regular “commentator” is ex-Bush boy toy Karl Rove, for crying out loud.
Fox-bashing is not a meaningless exercise to make liberals feel better. Not for true liberals and progressives, anyway. We're just as exasperated by fall-in-line Obama apologists. He's not the Messiah, as Rush “Prescription-Abuse” Limbaugh likes to sarcastically call him, a not-so-subtle jab at the Obama supporters who have yet to remove their blinders. We see this, even if Limbaugh wants to corral all liberals into this one camp. Because that's what Fox News and conservative “pundits” do; they decide that all liberals are of one mind, that we use the space commonly reserved for velvet portraits of Jesus and nativity scenes for shrines to Obama, and Gore, and Adolf Hitler.
Fox News, as so brilliantly dissected in the following clip from The Daily Show, has apparently given up their rouse as a “news network.”
Even though this will probably just make conservatives and Fox-washed brains angrier than they already are about our Messiah.

I like the article and I especially like Jon Stewart, though I don't watch as often as I should.
Uh, ever watch it, dim brain? I guess you like your head firmly planted up your butt never hearing any news.
Van Jones wasn't important? Well, only FN reported him. Charlie Gibson had 'no idea who he was.' Duh.
Oh, and if the Messiah is so 'super intelligent,' why so afraid to release his college transcripts, eh?
You know, We on the other side of Jon Stewarts fence see it exactly the same way only with the roles reversed. Did not bush get crucified by the liberals and the in the liberals pocket news media. Funny how disengenious we can be to sell a point.
Scott,
I am glad you mentioned that the roles have been reversed.
For 8 years the left attached bush in the same way that Obama is now being attached by the right. For years MSNBC, Keith Oberman and Racheal Maddow and the rest were acting just like Fox news and Hannity and Rush and all the rest of currently acting. Now the Left is denouncing anyone who disagrees with them as unpatriotic just as the right did to the left during the Bush years. I could go on but I think you get my point.
It would have been nice however if you had pointed it out in your post rather than in the comment section!
That is also why our two party system is a joke. They are just the flip side of the same coin. The democrats are for the welfare state but will also when it is convenient support the warfare state while the Republicans are all for the warfare state but will not hesitate when it is convenient to support the welfare state. Just like the media every couple of years they switch roles...
Well said all around! Especially this:
"We see this, even if Limbaugh wants to corral all liberals into this one camp. Because that's what Fox News and conservative pundits do; they decide that all liberals are of one mind, that we use the space commonly reserved for velvet portraits of Jesus and nativity scenes for shrines to Obama, and Gore, and Adolf Hitler."
Jon Stewart totally rules! Jenna F is obscure. Let's move on.
If Fox wants to espouse a particular viewpoint, they are entitled to that viewpoint. They are not entitled to masquerade as "Fair and Balanced" when they are clearly biased to the right. When they actively participated in creating "TeaBag" rallies, they crossed the line from News Organization to right-wing lobbyists. When they engage in such dubious activities as running clips from a better-attended rally and presenting it as clips from a sparsely-attended rally, they lapse into comedy!
Van Jones was irrelevent. Not as much as Jenna F, who is still babbling on and on about "Obama's College transcripts"....wow. Jenna, make some tea, we'll let you know when you can pull up in the short bus.
Fox news isn't a credible source for news but John Stewart is? Do you ever stop to listen to yourself? Oh, and Chris Matthews isn't biased either? Come on, the mainstream media and Hollywood have just as much of a Liberal bias as Fox News might have a Conservative bias. You should concentrate more on the issues than attacking those with opposing views. You'd have more credibility that way.
Also, who broke the news about Van Jones and ACORN? Was it John Stewart, Charlie Gibson or CNN? I mean, they are the ones that are truly fair and balanced, right? Wrong is wrong, Scott, no matter who does it. Don't excuse your guys for doing the same thing the other side does.
