A teen was shot and killed as he stood on the front lawn of his friend’s house in Brentwood Friday evening in what police suspect was a gang-related shooting, mere blocks away from his own home.
Christopher Hamilton, 15, of Brentwood, was standing on the front lawn of a house on American Boulevard with a group of friends Friday evening around 10 p.m. when several shots were fired from across the street. About half a dozen people scattered as Hamilton was struck in the temple by one of the bullets.
Hamilton, a 9th grader at Brentwood Freshman Center, was rushed to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he was pronounced dead early Saturday morning.
Hamilton’s aunt Tenicia Boynton said that she believes gang involvement was very likely, and that Hamilton may have been targeted by a particular group with which he had long-standing tensions. Suffolk County detectives stated that although gang participation in the shooting was being investigated, it was unclear whether the shooters actually targeted Hamilton or shot at the group randomly.

why do people do this they have no heart and no sol like how would they feel if one of there family member got shot like it not a joke its serious. all i have to say to the people that did this your nothing your trash you make me sick to my stomach and but its hurts me everyday to not see him or see his smile or even kiss him Christopher you was my first and will always be the love of my life i will carry all the moments we had together the ups and down . i remember when we had a talk outside and it was dark and we was looking at the stars talking bout how much i care about you and that i love you and you said i love you too that was the best day of my life .. but i miss you and love so much and its ima see you later ..
