Proposition 8 in California brought a lot of controversy in regard to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Church officials urged members to donate their time and means to preserving the sanctity of marriage between a man and woman by supporting the proposition in California's election. LDS Church members have been divided on the issue. Questions rise, "Has the LDS Church gone too far?" "Does the LDS Church give adequate voice to its members?" as well as many other questions regarding the Church's involvement.
Reported by The Cypress Times, Church members are protesting what the LDS Church has done. ExcommunicateTheChurch.com is a new grass-roots protest against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Organizer, Jason Beckett, stated, “When we launched the campaign, I assumed we would see people from outside the church voicing their issues, but we’ve seen a very strong response from active members who feel the church over stepped the bounds."
That said, Mormon rights activist Seth M. Densen, shared his opinion to the organizers of the protest, "...the last year has been very rough for me with regard to prop. 8 and the Church's role which I do not agree with.” Not only has Mr. Densen joined the protest, he and other LDS Church members have written letters, started their own petitions and sent emails expressing their opinions.
On the cause's website, organizers implore their supporters to write letters to Thomas S. Monson and also to the local media.
The Cypress Times stated that people think the LDS Church creates an environment in which its members do not feel as though they can express themselves. I disagree with this entirely. Being a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have never felt that I cannot express my opinions for or against the Church's principles. In fact, I do so quite often. The LDS Church, as with other religions, is completely voluntary. I have never felt excluded for or discouraged from expressing my opinion.
The battle continues; people are fighting for what they think is right. Good luck to all.

The church did what it thought was right. They didn't go Old Testament, like Moses did, and just kill everyone in God's path. But standing up for what they see as right is a good thing. How many churches have backed down on the issue to save face? They were told no to their 1 man 1+ women, so why can't they voice their no to 1 man + 1 man/1 woman +1 woman?
I thought the Mormons were 1 man + 10 or 20 women. The only reason they don't do it anymore is because Congress started seizing their property in 1887.
Nick, polygamy is a thing of the past in the LDS church. You may confusing LDS with FLDS, who still practice polygamy. Polygamy is no longer a part of the LDS church because it was commanded by God to no longer have multiple wives.
Bob, thank you for your comments. Standing up for your values is what the world needs more of.
My question is this, did the LDS church brake the law by mixing religon and polaticks?
Iranian Missile from Border can Hit West Hollywood
The Syrian copy of the Iranian missile has a range of 300km. With Mexico in a drug civil war the country is open for transporting such a missile. Then there is also Sadaams nerve gas warheads (which never existed per the demorats) for the SCUDs. This is why Israel is unnervered since Hizbullah recieved the M600 missiles which has better accuracy than the SCUDs. Then there is the fact that LA is the 3rd largest population of Jews whom alot are gay plus the Hollywood jewish media. You have your warning.
