Sen. McCain a sellout, say Border Patrol agents

Senator John McCain, the so-called GOP maverick, is fighting for his political life in Arizona against former congressman and talk show host J.D. Hayworth. While most pundits believe his race may be close but he'll pull out a win, some believe it's time for McCain to retire.

In 2006, I wrote a column regarding U.S. Border Patrol agents from Arizona's Local 2544 blasting McCain for his words and actions regarding border security, illegal aliens and amnesty. Here is that column which originally appeared in News with Views (2006):

United States Border Patrol agents are not happy with Senator John McCain (R-AZ) since he voted for the Amnesty Bill (S. 2611). And they're not being quiet about their collective anger over the senator's actions and remarks.

According to members of the agents' union local 2544, Senator McCain has never been a friend to rank-and-file Border Patrol agents. Local 2544 represents US Border Patrol agents in Arizona, McCain's home state.

"He routinely ignores correspondence from Border Patrol agents and often gives the impression that he is just too big and too important to deal with us," they said.

"He attempts to undermine our mission at every turn and actively supports the criminals who violate our laws. He always trys to downplay the fact that illegal aliens knowingly and willingly violate our laws, and he is a close ally on immigration matters with Senator Ted Kennedy, who we believe is the biggest disgrace of all time in the United States Senate."

These law enforcement agents point to Senator McCain's "imperious attitude" towards rank-and-file Border Patrol agents and his complete disdain for their mission has been evident for many years.

"We will not bother listing his website [for citizens to write to him] because it's obvious he couldn't care less what the average American thinks and he isn't up for re-election until 2010."

And these agents aren't just singling out McCain for their ire. Senator Arlen Specter, who chairs the Judiciary Committee, is also in their sights. They point to how Senator Specter, at the last minute, put a clause in the Senate's shameful immigration bill that forces the United States government to "consult" with Mexico prior to planning or building any fences or barriers on our border.

"Not on Mexico's [side of the] border, but yes, on United States soil. We can't wait to see this fencing project after the "consultations" take place. Maybe they can even appoint "Congressman" Raul Grijalva to lead the "consultations" for the United States of America."

The agents said that this is the same Mexican government that sends millions of Mexican citizens here illegally to steal jobs and send billions of dollars back to Mexico. This is the same Mexican government whose soldiers smuggle drugs and shoot at Border Patrol agents. This is the same Mexican government that is corrupt to the core. This is the same Mexican government that uses its consular officers to sue the United States government.

"Great move Specter. Talk about the "FOX" guarding the henhouse."

"It sells out our sovereignty by forcing the American government to "consult with the Mexican government" before planning or building any border fences, it encourages more widespread fraud than this country has ever seen (you'll see what we're talking about if this actually passes the House), and it is completely unenforceable and will overwhelm the system," the agents said in a statement submitted to the US Senate.

McCain has been a sellout for years, he is not a Republican he is nothing but a RINO, His wife and daughter are insulting to the conservatives, advertising their faces for a group that lost the votes for Gay Marriage by a majority vote for the State of California. They evidently do not understand how America works, everyone votes for a addition to the laws and the majority win, they do not sound very patriotic to me.

Few want to acknowledge that there is another horse in this race besides John McCain/J. D. Hayworth, and his name is Jim Deakin, www.jimdeakin.com - the only signature qualified candidate on the Primary ballot. He is the true, grassroots candidate, and if you don't believe that, email him. jimdeakinforsenate@gmail.com
He has traveled the state for a year plus talking to thousands of people and truly answering the right questions and tackling the issues.

Hayworth's voting record from numbersusa.com is not that good on illegal immigration. Here are some examples of his votes on the following:
*Voted on floor of the House against final passage of border security and enforcement bill in 2005
*Voted against H.R. 4437, the Border Protection, Anti Terrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005.
*Voted in 2000 against authorizing troops on the border.
*Opposed the Traficant amendment to H.R.4205.
*Voted AGAINST enforcing the border by opposing the Traficant amendment to

Anyone who thinks J.D. Hayworth can beat McCain doesn't know Hayworth, doesn't know Arizona, doesn't know Arizona politics, and certainly doesn't know McCain. Arizonans figured out J.D. years ago, and they're not about to send him back to Congress to represent them. The best Mr. Kouri can do is dredge up a four-year-old column.

McCain need to be replaced and it is time for him to retire.
he does not represent true conservative values and has
worked 'acroos the aisle' too many times when it was not prudent to do so.

The article may be 'old' but if McCain has not changed his stance
then the article is still valid. A RINO and needs to go.

I don't live in AZ but for several years I have read about Bob Krentz the 59 year old rancher who was killed this weekend by an illegal alien. This was on the day after his brother turned over 8 illegal aliens and a large amount of marijuana found on their property to Border Patrol.
I know that Mr. Krentz put in a place for border crossers to get a drink, and put in a gate. Still, they cut his fences, butchered one of his calves, broke his water lines and left trash all over his property. Now, one of them has taken his life.
I hope this will be a real wake up call not only for Arizona but for this country. Illegal immigration must be stopped and the government representatives who continue to pander to the lobbyist and large corporations to keep illegals in this country must be voted out.
I live in Georgia and I'm not trying to meddle in your politics, I believe this is an issue that effects us all.
May Bob Krentz rest in peace and may his death not be in vain.

McLame is nothing but a doddering old fool. One main reason he lost the presidency is because of his amnesty schemes! 80% of the American public does NOT support amnesty! He has Mr Krentz's blood on his hands as do the other vermin in office, along with the liberal media and the OBL who support the leeches that sneak into this country every day! He needs to retire. I hope Arizonians vote JD Hayworth into office so the country can rid itself of this RINO cancer on the butt of America.

With dismay, I read the news earlier this 2nd week, May 2010, of the introduction of a bill by both Lebberman and McCain to further provide restrictive "definitions" for the Tea Party protesters to be able to be categorized as "terrorists" and stripped of citizenship and face prison under the new definitions in the new bill. WHAT IS THIS McCAIN thinking? I become more and more convinced that both "president of the federal corporation" candidates in 2008 cycle play for the same team, and drink the same kool-aid. I'm severely disappointed to come to this realization. Can anyone confirm this new jointly sponsored senate bill mentioned above?
