Why is Lauren Conrad missing from the headlines lately?

Yes, this reporter took a three-week hiatus so they can finally get their own laptop.  But it doesn't give Lauren Conrad an excuse to be missing in action over the last few weeks.  If one thinks about it, the last worthy headline Lauren had was near Halloween, when she talked about dressing up as a happy clown.  After that, it just went dead.  Not a single fresh piece about the former Hills star for maybe 7 to 10 days, or more.  Not even a follow-up on the happy clown Halloween costume.  Despite making photo ops with former Hillzies, and making college appearances Monday night at University of Rhode Island, this is abnormal for Lauren Conrad.  Even after departing The Hills earlier this year, Lauren managed to keep up appearance in the news with the launch of her book, LA Candy, and life after The Hills.  But lately, what's going on?  Lauren Conrad needs to stop being shy, or at least stop acting like she's shy.  The boyfriend excuse can only get you so far, it hasn't stopped Paris Hilton, let alone Heidi and Spencer.  Not even walking away from MTV's reality fishbowl is good enough for this reporter.  In the past, and even as we speak, we see PR teams keep up an aggressive campaign to keep their celebrity clients fresh and relevant.  But then again, it all comes down to what the celebrity wants out of fame.  So therefore, it all goes back to Lauren Conrad.  And for someone as famous and appealing as Lauren Conrad, nothing should stop this young star from willfully losing grip on the limelight.  Even one year ago at this time, when Lauren was still doing The Hills, not even the stars of Twilight could derail the popularity of LC, in spite of Twilight eating away at the attention of The Hills/ LC, little by little.  Even with the phenomenon of Twilight, that shouldn't stop Lauren Conrad from dominating the press, or popularity.  However, if Lauren Conrad goes this long without a single fresh piece about her, or if others are questioning her luster because of LC's insecurities, then Twilight might as well assassinate her celebrity status, and take all those disappointed fans who looked up to you for years and grow the runaway train of Twilight even more.  At that point, there will be nobody to blame but Lauren Conrad, for refusing to maintain the fame she worked hard to achieve.  And even if LC suddenly decided to go aggressive again later on, her fans will have already moved on to other things.  So now is the time to stay fresh, relevant, and aggressive with your celebrity and your fans.  Your future depends on it.  Your paycheck depends on it.  Don't use M.I.A. as an excuse for more attention, or if there's something to hide.  Keep it up, and you will again become an unknown.
