BronzeWord Latino Authors, the blog and website of author Jo Ann Hernandez, has just been nominated for Best New Blog and Best Cultural New Blog in the Book Blogger Appreciation Week Award.
"I was stunned when I was notified that I received the nomination for Best Cultural Blog," says Hernandez. "Then Amy twitters me that I've also been nominated for the Best New Blog and I almost fainted. I am so grateful to everyone who nominated me. Thank you all."
Voting will start on September 7th and the winner will be announced on BronzeWord Latino Authors and on the Book Blogger Appreciation Week Award site, so be sure to mark your calenders and vote for your favorite bloggers in the various categories.

Jo Ann Hernández is the author of award-winning The Throwaway Piece and White Bread Competition. The Throw Away Piece won first place for Best Novel at the 2003 Chicano/ Latino Literary Prize at the University of California in Irvine. This book also won first place in the 2007 Paterson Prize for Books for Young People Award. The Throw Away Piece was a finalist for Foreword Magazine and was picked for The New York Public Library’s 2007 Books for the Teen Age list, considered the ultimate guide to teen reads. She grew up in San Antonio, TX, left at twenty and returned home 40 years later. She earned her Master’s in Creative Writing at the University of San Francisco in 1995.
