This is the Warthog. Well actually this is the Warthog before it's makeover.
Rumors constantly abound all around the internet about the Halo movie being in production, or out of production, or finished, or dead, yet no rumor is actually confirmed. All that's been released is vague comments from Microsoft, contradictory comments from directors. However, salvation is out there for the thirsty Halo fan. Peter Cooper, a British Halo fan, is currently creating the greatest homage to Halo in the history of homages.
He is making a full feature film, Halo themed movie. The best part of this movie? It's non profit. Meaning it's free. He plans on releasing it online. Legal disclaimer is at the bottom of this page.
From Operation Chastity's website:
Operation Chastity is a planned feature film set in the Halo universe, centering on a platoon of Recon Marines of the 267th Marine Regiment. They operate in Argentina within a UNSC cordon, set up around the wreckage of the CCS-class battlecruiser “Chaste Ascendancy” following its crash-landing on Earth. Operation Chastity is their last mission in this forgotten part of the Human-Covenant War.
The film is running on an estimated budget of £30,000, and is due to be filmed in Early Spring 2010. It is being helmed by Peter Cooper, a British Halo fan and first-time film maker. The film is being crewed by passionate fans and film makers from all around the world, reaching from the production’s home of Britain to as far as the USA and Singapore.
Filming is set to begin in March, with the film being finished by November. They've created Marine, and Spartan Armor. They've created a full Warthog, you can see several photos in the slideshow. They've also been creating weapons, such as the M7 you can also view in the slideshow.
The story, aside from what's mentioned above, is about soldiers who want to go home. It does feature a Spartan, Maria-062. You may remember Maria from the Halo canon Books. She was the same batch of soldiers that the famous Master Chief was in, and actually tested the Mark VI Mjolnir armor before the Chief did. It's unclear whether the movie takes place before or after the testing of the armor. Dr. Halsey listed her as too wounded to continue fighting after the test however, and she's listed as one of the only Spartans that's retired.
The movie promises to be amazing. Peter Cooper, the Jack of all Trades of Operation Chastity, operates on donations. Most of this project has been paid for out of his own pocket. He has confirmed in a recent impromptu interview with Examiner, that there will be ODST, though the majority are UNSC Marines. He has also stated that Operation Chastity is a "systematic cleansing" in the film, most likely meaning the sole objective is the eradication of Covenant forces in the area. He has an astonishing 80 people involved in film. Professional studios created the Warthog. Mr. Cooper has professional experience in the film making industry, so this promises to be an excellent film.
Some would ask, how popular or how good would a low budget film do? Or a fan made film? Well, Mr. Cooper and the rest of the people at Operation Chastity are not your typical fans. They've made a serious, concerted effort at making this the best that they can. Just as an example, Paranormal Activity, cost $11,000 to make. It was not created with the intention of being in theaters all around the country, yet today, three years after it was filmed, it is the number one movie at the box office. Who's to say how Operation Chastity might do? The sky is the limit.

Hey, sounds interesting sir. Though I think a majority of Halo fans would rather see a movie centered around Master Chief or a Spartan character. I read the Halo books a years ago. It's a darn shame I don't remember who Maria is.
