This weekend at Lake Tahoe the conditions were perfect, and Granlibakken was perfect for sledding. The sledding hill, one of just a few at Lake Tahoe that is machine-groomed, is open daily from 9a. to 4p.
For only $9 per person you can sled all day long down this steep, but not too steep, hill. It's steep enough to need a helmet; helmets are for rent at Granlibakken's Ski Hut Snack Bar. The quaint old Tahoe atmosphere is as warm there as their hot chocolate.
Sledding Hill guests are provided with a sled for use during the day. You can take these saucers down the hill any day of the week, but no tubes, tobaggans or metal sleds are allowed.
You can use the Sledding Hill even if you're not a guest at Granlibakken, but the special deals available this year make it tempting, not to mention convenient, to stay on-site.
One special Granlibakken has going is the '$109 Skiers & Boarders Package'. With this special you have the choice of 7 World-Class Resorts:
One adult lift ticket at either Alpine Meadows, Homewood, Mt. Rose, Northstar-at-Tahoe, Sierra-at-Tahoe, Squaw Valley USA or Sugar Bowl.
One night's lodging at Granlibakken.
Delicious full breakfest buffet, and use of the sauna, heated outdoor pool and hot tub.
Lake Tahoe's premier ski resorts are a short drive from Granlibakken. Surrounded by so many snow play options including cross country skiing, snow shoe trails and Granlibakken's own intimate ski and sledding hill, this resort is a truly great lodging and playing option this Winter.
