Lacrosse fans in New England were lucky enough to play host to May's NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships. Next summer, the region will again play host to some of the United States' top outdoor lacrosse players.

Wednesday, Major League Lacrosse announced that its 2010 All-Star Game would be held in Boston, MA for the first time since 2007. The game will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 7:30pm, at the home field of the league's Boston Cannons, Harvard Stadium.

In anticipation of the 2010 FIL World Lacrosse Championships, the MLL All-Star Game will feature a team of MLL All-Stars facing the 2010 U.S. Men's National Lacrosse Team. 20 members of the National Team are also MLL players, including Boston's Paul Rabil and Ryan Boyle, Chicago's Max Seibald and Matt Striebel, Toronto's Joe Cinosky and Denver's Brendan Mundorf.

The 2006 MLL All-Star Game also had a similar format, where the US National Team defeated the MLL All-Stars 18-10, leading up to the 2006 World Championships. That year's All-Star Game was also in Boston, which happens to be the home to the league's headquarters. Past All-Star games have featured a "Young Guns" versus "Old School" format ('05 and '09) or a East versus West ('07 and '08) matchup. Last season's league contraction makes the East versus West format difficult to use.

The 2010 World Championships will take place in Manchester, England from July 14 - 24th. Participation in the MLL All-Star Game will be the close to the U.S. team's pre-championship training camp.

All-Star Game tickets are currently available through the Boston Cannons.
