Tom Cruise is a great father

Tom and his son Connor
Tom and his son Connor

There have been many reports this past week of Tom Cruise at the Lakers game with his adopted son Connor. Many people seemed sort of surprised that Tom Cruise actually does something normal, like taking his son to a basketball game. However, people that know Tom Cruise are aware that he is a good father and the fact that he doesn’t parade Connor in front of cameras is proof of that.

Those who know Connor say he is well behaved and far more mature than most fourteen-year-old kids. “Connor has been a shoulder for Tom to lean on these past couple years when he unfairly turned from superstar actor to superstar joke,” an employee of Cruise tells me. “Connor tells his dad that he loves him no matter what.” Other say that Connor is almost a straight A student at school and is a big hit with all the women. Perhaps the most admirable quality about Connor is the fact that his family’s fame doesn’t get to his head.

“Connor always sticks up for the underdog. There was a kid that was constantly being picked on at school. Connor became friends with him and talks to him on the phone about not letting jealous bullies make him feel bad,” a parent, whose child goes to the same school as Connor, tells me. She says she was never a fan of Tom Cruise but the person and the actor are rather different.

Some may argue that Tom Cruise is irresponsible for parading his daughter Suri in front of the camera. However, because of the media interest in Suri, Tom Cruise really doesn’t have much of a choice. We can pick on Tom all we want for his Church of Scientology association, but nobody can ever accuse him of being a bad parent.

If he's such a great dad, why *is* Suri paraded around and Connor and Isabella kept behind the Cruise Curtain? And why send them to Scientology school? Sorry, but I wouldn't take another Scientologist parent's word that the sun would come up tomorrow. Little too much of an agenda there.

I agree there's no need to parade Suri in front of the cameras any more than Brangelina's brood. Does Depp do that? He's a bigger BO seller then both. It's all to saves Tom's career any way he can. And consider that Scientology schools have long been considered below standards in curriculum and teaching methods, than other schools, so much so that the Board Of Ed won't accredit them. Did the friend's mother at the CoS school tell you that? They'll tell you the opposite. LRH doctrine encourages t

I wanted to say that LRH doctrine encourages them to lie. And that's no lie. They are also told to call Tom Cruise sir, or Mr Cruise. This was also true of people who had accomplished more of their Scientology training. They also could never speak ill or him (unless it's a trick for "handling", and then it just like this is, "I'm not any fan of Tom's work..") or else you're sent to ethics. Even less fun if you're not in the Celeb Ctr.

Hi Daryl. I really appreciate your style (I find your dog stories plausible). re CoS, True one could say ALL religions have cult-like qualities... they expect everyone to adhere unquestioningly to dogma, profess to have THE right interpretations, etc... but we need don't need to literally escape from them or fear for our lives. Not all have sophisticated surveillance methods or police. Not all profess the right to destroy their critics (SPs). I'm sending this along so you understand better why p

I'm sending this along so you understand better why people are so outraged. Go to youtube. Look up Brian Berry, Jason Beghe, Marc Headley, Tanya Neujahr, Astra Woodcraft, Wally Hanks. Google Paulette Cooper. Sorry I don't mean to be a downer but I thought maybe you didn't know the details.

I respect Tom's and everybody else's beliefs. What I can see is that Tom Cruise is a very good father and a very hard working and professional actor. As long as he is a good person his beliefs are none of our bussines. And remember to guide your opinions and conclusions by facts, not by malicious rumours. This is of utmost importance if you want to be fair with those around you.

Certainly read Dianetics and a New Slant on Life, too as well as a critical voices, yto get a balance opinion. Speaking of you might want to search "John Duignan" also. He wrote the book The Complex and was a member of CoS elite para-military group. He escaped last year. There's an interview (4 part?) with him on youtube.

Sorry, but I don't consider someone a good parent who knowingly involves their children in an organization that's nothing more than a cult. Were parents who carted their offspring off to Jonestown also good parents? Tom needs to stop treating a work of scifi as a religious text and come back down to earth.
