Dr. Conrad Murray's legal defense in the Michael Jackson manslaughter case is being reported by TMZ, and if the report is true, it's a shocker.

The accused physician is allegedly going to contend in court that the pop singer gave himself a fatal dose of the operating room drug, Propofol, when Murray stepped out of the room for a two-minute restroom break.

Michael's father is reportedly “horrified” by the Murray defense. Joe Jackson told TMZ, “I don't believe it. It's not true. Why would he [Dr. Murray] hide all the bottles if such a story were true?”

The King of Pop's dad also said, “The Coroner's report shows the story is not true,” adding, “this really upsets me to hear this.”

Michael’s father plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit against Murray.

Murray admitted giving Jackson 25 mg. of Propofol (about an eighth of a bottle) at appropriately 10:50 a.m. He says he stayed in the room for the next hour while Michael slept.

The defense plans to argue that, during a brief absence around noon, Jackson woke up and because of frustration due to his inability to sleep, took the remainder of the contents of the Propofol bottle through an intravenous line, which ultimately led to the pop singer's death.

Pictures from the Los Angeles Coroner's office show an empty Propofol bottle under the table next to Jackson's bed.

To counter the allegation that he hid Propofol bottles, Murray's defense team will argue that if the doctor were trying to hide evidence he would have removed the empty bottle that was found under the nightstand.

Will a jury buy the story, or is it merely a positioning strategy by Murray's lawyers to try to obtain a plea bargain?

Just one in a series of many legal twists and turns to come.

That defense sounds ridiculous. If that were true he would have said that from the beginning.

Wow, it sounds like that defense would hinge totally upon the doctor's credibility. To me, it does not pass the straight face test.

Micheal Jackson is a gay child molester. He deserved to die and will burn in hell for his sins.

If I'm on the jury, the doc walks.
What idiot, much less a doctor, would leave a empty bottle of medicine behind if he was knowlingly attempting to kill you?

If he could shoot up by himself, why would he need a doctor?

I wish Michael's father would crawl back under a rock somewhere. That man is despicable. All he can think about is filing lawsuits now that his meal ticket is gone.

He would need a doctor or medical professional to start the IV, which is what it says he took the Propofol through. I wouldn't know, because I've never tried nor would I, but I assume beginning an IV on yourself would be near to impossible (if it's the arm, that is) due to positioning and the necessity to utilize both hands.

Just commenting on the need for a doctor, as I have no other stake in this issue.

As for how Jackson could give himself an IV... If there was an IV line already in, All IV's have a medicine port in them for quick administering of a shot... His defense states that Jackson "took the remainder of the contents of the Propofol bottle through an intravenous line" If there were a needle nearby, Jackson could have shot more meds into the existing IV.... That having been said I think the doc's "defense" is almost certainly a bubbling crock....

There is no way Michael injected himself with Profanol. If MJ was out with 25 mg he would have been out as soon as the 25mg hit his system again. With Ativan and Versed combined with Profanol he would have been to drowsey to have injected himself. Besides if that was true WHY? was Murray needing to clean up the vials at the scene? This is Murray trying to keep his own neck out of the noose. Murray a poor job of caring for MJ.

Murray waited too late to call 911, he gave CPR wrong (one hand chest compressions),he failed to let EMS or hospital docs know that he had given Profanol at all and I think also the amt of Ativan & Versed given. Murray's actions alone could have killed MJ even without the medicine. Charge should be 2nd degree Murder not involuntay manslaughter because Murray consiously did all of this.

Someone in the Jackson family needs to file a lawsuit against Murray for wrongful death. My hat goes off to Joe as M J father to do that. It needs to be done. It is not about the money it is to try and prevent this doc Murray from practicing med. Joe is the person that should file the lawsuit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF Joe end up with some cash out of it which I doubt he will given Murray's finances so much the better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael Jackson was NEVER guilty of child molestation, this is a FACT some of you can't seem to comprehend even tho it was proved in crt and with the FBI info that came out a few months ago. Get over yourselves and face reality. Also, skin whitening cream was used to even out his skin so it would not look blotchy. If you had the condition bad enough you would use it to.

I don't know why anyone would think Murray is innocent. Murray is supposedly a Cardiologist. HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER THAN TO GIVE PROFANOL IN HOME SETTING TO BEGIN WITH. 911 call late, one hand compression CPR, meds given as they were and not telling EMS & hosp docs what was in M J system all worked to kill MJ. Murray took on responsibility of caring for MJ and he was on duty that night or was suppose to be. Murray is a GUILTY!!
