Madonna - Will punish fans by performing her worst songs

Madonna's forgotten song and movie

Madonna is continuing her mega-successful Sticky and Sweet Tour this summer and is changing her setlist a little bit. The good news is that she will now sing Don't Cry For Me Argentina from Evita. But there is more bad news than good.

Who's That Girl, from her 1987 flop movie of the same name, will somehow find its way into the setlist. The song might have hit number one on the charts, but it was forgotten within a year after its release. It never even made it on Madonna's first greatest hits collection, The Immaculate Collection.

American Life, the song about the soy lattes, is also being considered. "Madonna is no longer ashamed of this song," a source in her camp tells me. "It received an unfair backlash and was banned from radio stations. That doesn't mean it is necessarily a bad song."

What's next, an encore of her remake of American Pie? Perhaps I should cut Madonna some slack because I do feel she was unfairly turned down from adopting Mercy James from Malawi. But if fans pay the ridiculous prices she charges for tickets, they should be able to hear their favorites, not the ones Madonna likes to punish them with.

You obviously aren't a hard core Madonna fan. If you went to her fan forums, you'd know that her dedicated fans have been asking her to sing these two songs for years and years. It's boring for the fans to hear songs like Like A Virgin and Holiday again and again. We want to hear some of her older obscure songs that she hardly ever performs.

When it comes to understanding which songs real Madonna fans like Daryl D (D which I assume stands for "douche") is entirely inept. Who's That Girl is fun, bubbly, bright and quirky.. a perfect summer song. American Life is complicated and artistic, and one of my personal favorites. Daryl D's description of American Life exemplifies his ineptitude. An entire song about soy lattes? Did you even listen to it, or are those the only words from the song that your tiny brain could remember?

Like the above two said...you obviously are not a true fan like those of us who gladly pay to see our Queen. "American Life" was not about soy lattes, it was a retrospect on her career in an ironic and sarcastic tone...you obviously can't wrap your pea brain around it. And we all love who's that girl, it's one of her most signature hits and the reason she didn't include it on Immaculate Collection is because the albumwas already full (Dress You , Burning Up, Causing A Commotion, Sooner or Later, Hanky Panky, Oh Father didn't make it either). And if we shell out our own $ then you have no say, madonna fans like to be punished by her too.

What?! "Who's That Girl' is freakin' awesome. I wore that tape out when I was little and I 5still love it. And 'American Life' is a very good song (as is the album). OK, the rap is not the best part, but she may remix it without it, and it's not god-awful if she doesn't. I don't like the song 'American Pie' to begin with; Madonna makes it slightly less intolerable than the original. You know, real Madonna fans don't just like 7 or 8 songs. There's a whole wealth of great songs in Madonna's catalog that we'd like to hear in concert, so these additions cause only excitement.
