A man identified as Jasper Schuringa, heroically risked his life to save his fellow passengers from the plans of suspected terrorist Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab on Northwest Airlines Flight 253.
Are you paying attention Oliver Stone?
Schuringa's name appears in the Internet Movie Data Base as an assistant director for a 2006 film, "National Lampoon's Teed Off Too," and a 2004 movie, "The Significance of Seventeen."
Schuringa, who is from Amsterdam, said that he saw the smoldering device ignited by Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab just as the aircraft was preparing to land.
He noticed Mutallab had his pants open and was holding a “burning object” between his legs.
Schuringa jumped into action and pulled the object from the suspect and tried to extinguish the fire with his hands.
The director screamed for water and airline personnel brought and used fire extinguishers as Schuringa dragged Mutallab to the front of the plane.
The other passengers applauded as he walked back to his seat.
Let's give this guy a standing ovation.
