Downtown Lansing is now home to a great local pizza shop--Geno's Pizzeria (208 S Washington Sq).
Offering hand-tossed, "New York style" pizza (large, thin crust slices), Geno's has quickly become a downtown favorite. It is also a great place for a fast, cheap lunch--the Two for $5 deal.
For $5, you get your choice of two slices of pizza. And they don't have to be the same, you can mix and match. The slices are large, and have a thinner crust, which makes them easy to fold.
Geno's offers plenty of different, unique toppings too. But fear not picky eaters, the standard cheese and/or pepperoni are well represented. However, sampling one of the other toppings is highly recommended and there usually veggie only toppings available.
And if you love carbs in all its many tasty forms, make sure to try Geno's garlic knots. These are very tasty knotted bread sticks, and a full order can be a meal of its own.
There are salads available as well, and you can get the Salad and a Slice combo, which is another great lunch option. The Caprese Salad compliments a slice of pizza very well.
You may have to wait in line during the lunch rush, but service is fast and there is plenty of seating inside as well as on the patio.
