There is no doubt in many people's minds that Michael Jordan is by far the best basketball player ever to play game. This has been and will most likely be the consensus for quite some time, but with the emergence of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James over the last decade or so, the debate has started to really amp up with the Black Mamba winning his fifth NBA title recently and King James improving his game with every passing season.
Despite LeBron James winning two straight NBA MVP awards over the past two seasons and polishing skills during his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kobe Bryant has proved over the last two years that he is still the best player in the league and a legitimate candidate for the best player of all-time after winning two straight NBA titles and being just one shy of Michael Jordan's six NBA titles which he won under Phil Jackson with the Chicago Bulls.
Obviously, with MJ still very much a prominent figure in the NBA, especially after becoming the owner of the Charlotte Bobcats last season, the Hall of Famer gets bombarded with questions about who he believes is the best player in the league today.
At this point time, there are only two players in the league that really can be considered amongst the best of the best in Kobe and LeBron, but even though most people believed that the Akron Hammer surpassed the Black Mamba as the best in the league earlier last season, Kobe put on a show in the playoffs and proved to his doubters that he is still the man!
Recently, Michael Jordan was asked at a basketball camp who he believes is the better player: Kobe Bryant or LeBron James?
Without hesitating for a second, the five-time NBA MVP and six-time NBA champion said, "Kobe."
MJ's response was so quick and so definitive, that the question almost seemed ridiculous to him as the Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant is without a doubt the best player in the league today.
