The NFL, MLB and the NBA might rule professional sports in the United States, but soccer or what is more commonly known as football, is the top dog around the world hands down!
Even though soccer will probably never take off in the US, this sport is by far the most popular in the world with extremely loyal fan following for football clubs in England, Italy, France, Germany and Spain just to name a few. Not only are fans in these countries, amongst many other countries, fanatical to say the least on the club levels for teams like Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan, but these fans also follow their country's national team with the same amount of dedication and pride.
Along with being arguably the most popular athlete in this country, Kobe Bryant also has an undying passion for soccer(football) and Spanish football club Barcelona. Even though Ronaldinho (AC Milan, Brazil) no longer plays for Bryant's favorite club FC, he is still a big fan of the Brazilian footballer and shows that in this sweet Nike commercial promoting the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup which will be played in South Africa this June.
Along with Kobe Bryant, there are many sports superstars in this commercial like: Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal), Wayne Rooney (England), Frank Ribery (France), Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast), Landon Donovan (USA), Fabio Cannavaro (Italy), Cesc Fabregas (Spain), Roger Federer (tennis champ) and yes, America's favorite cartoon Dad, Homer Simpson.
