(WEBS), but I have finally given in. I know a few folks who rely on WEBS for their yarn needs, but I wasn't previously convinced. It all changed when I yearned to make the amazing Chunky Merino Throw featured on Jared Flood's blog, brooklyntweed. Jared's photography makes this project irresistible. Unfortunately, this yearning came with a price tag of about $133... for a blanket.
Enter WEBS. Located in Northampton, Massachusetts, this amazing store offers great discounts on an unbelievable selection of yarn, and it gets even better for those living out of state. Of course I'm talking about tax, or the lack thereof. On top of their regular prices, which are often better than other stores, they offer the following:
- 20% off of $60 (of yarn)
- 25% off of $120 (of yarn)
Translation: I can now embark on the beautiful Wenlan Chia throw made with Twinkle Soft Chunky. Usually priced at $19 a skein, WEBS offers it for $17, and after I load my cart with 7 skeins and a few other things (okay, more than a few), each skein of Soft Chunky is reduced to $12.75! That's an enormous discount and makes an unaffordable project into something that I can at least contemplate, albeit painfully.
