Everyone knows that you need to drink extra water in the summer, but many children don't get enough. There is a laundry list of body issues that come along with being dehydrated, but many people overlook them. Don't let your children become victims of the dehydration monster. Look for these signs of dehydration, and give those kiddos a glass of water at every meal, and a couple between, they will thank you for it!
- Dry Mouth
- Fatigue
- Irritability
- Lack of Sweat
- Crying Without Tears
- Sunken Eyes
- Thirst, if you are thirsty, you are dehydrated
Don't let your kids suffer with these often overlooked symptoms. Kids who are dehydrated don't feel their best. Get these kiddos hydrated by giving them a glass of water every two hours. Give them an extra one if they have been outside playing! Also, give them ice to crunch on if they are taking a break! Make flavored water popsicles! In addition, veggies and fruit are full of water so load up!
Kids need you to remind them to be healthy! Don't forget, and you too will be happier in result. Happy kids make happy parents, and hydrated kids are happy kids!
