While ignoring harsh criticism and strong warnings by numerous doctors and scientists, U.S. health officials made pregnant women one of the highest priority groups for getting the H1N1 swine flu vaccine.  Did U.S. health authorities even read the inserts or consult the scientists? Flu vaccine manufacturers clearly indicate that safety and effectiveness of their flu vaccines have NOT been established for pregnant women and nursing mothers - this includes H1N1 vaccines.

Sadly, miscarriage reports from pregnant women who have taken the H1N1 swine flu vaccine are starting to pour in from all over the nation.

Personal stories of heartbreak - women who lost their babies just hours or days after getting the H1N1 vaccine this year. Shocking H1N1 Swine Flu Vaccine Miscarriage Stories From Pregnant Women   Organic Health urges pregnant women to tell their doctors that vaccines and pregnancy do NOT mix!

Many health officials and doctors say the benefit is worth the risk, and urge pregnant women to get vaccinated with one or both flu vaccines this year. They claim the potential dangers from getting sick with the flu while pregnant, is a far more significant than any potential danger from the vaccine.

However, if you study the facts and do the breakdown, as described by Dr. Mercola, there is only a 25 percent chance of reaping any sort of benefit from the vaccine. He goes on to ask, "Is it worth the risk, especially if you're pregnant?"

    Shame on you for posting quack advice when Pandemic H1N1 is causing miscarriages & killing women.

    8% of US dead earlier this summer were pregnant women, when they are only 1% of the US population. There was no vaccine then, and doctors were reluctant to diagnose Panflu, and, not giving, as they should, pregnant women antivirals at symptom onset.

    Read about the mortality rates of pregnant women in the 1918-1920 flu pandemic:
    23% to 71% when national "average" was 2%CFR.

    The panflu shot take about 3 weeks to build immunity;
    if people are infected before then (or even at poorly-run, cattle-call vaccine clinics; no respiratory protection in use by staff & public, may be catching panflu there) they will get sick.

    Also no flu vaccine is 100% protective: this far after April, the vaccine is not such a good match anymore. Documented cases of getting panflu twice have occurred, because of the different clades & subclades.

    Get vaxed but try to Avoid infection or Get Tamiflu.

    Dear cr,
    i completely understand your concern, but regrettably, the shame is that our health officials aren't doing their job. The mortality rates in the 1918-1919 pandemic you are refering to(see the link in the statement ACIP)reports that mortatlity was seen only in those that were complicated by pneumonia, a condition easily treated today with antibiotics that wasn't available back then. (click ACIP link in article; see page 42 right column; Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons, Vol II number 2, summer 2006). We all need to keep reading and looking at the facts. Thank you for your comments and concern

    I love how the authorities count every person hospitalized who also has the flu as a flu hospitalization regardless of whether it's the cause of their hospitalization; yet at the same time they classify as "coincidental" or "unrelated" when anyone has a reaction to the vaccine or experiences abnormal side effects like spontaneous abortion. It's such a double standard, clearly designed to make the flu seem to be more serious than it actually is and the vaccine safer than it actually is!

    THe H1N1 was put out so quickly that safety testing absolutely could not have been done to show any short or long term effects of the vax. Pregnant women are vulnerable because they are concerned about their babies health. I feel the government is playing on that fear to try and get more people to scoop up a vaccination that shelled out large amounts of money for.

    At 39, I got the H1N1 shot at aprox 8-10 weeks.I regret big time. Now I must consider all options and I am a bit angry at my haste in acceping the shot without researching first. I never would have gotten it had I done so. Wish me luck in this, the hardest choice I have to make now.

    I'm sure this won't convince any of the goofballs who don't understand the science behind vaccine development and who see some vast government conspiracy behind everything (basically those who watch Fox news), but as someone who has seen the results of H1N1 infection in a pregnant woman (loss of baby, loss of mother's limbs, internal organ damage, and months in intensive care), I'd say you should get the vaccination.

    At 8 weeks along, I confirmed my pregnancy at doctor's office on 12/21/09 and rec'd H1N1 vaccine the next day per doctor's request. On 1-13-10 I started spotting. After ultrasound was done the next day, I was told there was no heartbeat and that it did not develop past 8 weeks. Coincidence??? I will never know. They cannot prove it wasn't the vaccine and I cannot prove it was. But instinct tells me I would not do it again and now I question everything.
