Earlier this week, fisherman Willy Dean caught an eight-foot shark while on the Potomac River in St. Mary's County, Md. This, almost nine years to the date after a nearly 10-foot bull shark attacked and killed a 10-year-old boy at Sandbridge.
On Tuesday morning at Cornfield Harbor, about three miles north of Point Lookout — where the Potomac empties into the Chesapeake Bay — Dean checked his nets, and discovered what he believed to be the highly aggressive bull shark. Bull sharks prefer shallow waters, the same waters frequented by beachgoers.

Would not call that an accident, that a$$hole got exactly what he deserved.
Regarding the Bull Shark in the Potomac - There is a fossil Park down River famous for Shark teeth so don't you think the sharks have been there quite awhile? The guy that caught the Bull shark in my opinion is only eclipsed in Dawinism by the idiot who baited the shark on your video. The shark probably would have gently taken the food from him with out incident if he hadn't pulled it away thus causing the shark to lunge at it sight unseen (they close their eyes when they attack food). The point is regarding the video you don't feed wild animals, would you hold out a piece of food to a Grizzly? I dove with a Bull shark in Florida and the critter could not have cared less that I was there, but then again I wasn't waving around a bit of food!
To the idiot who killed the Bull shark in the Potomac, you're an ignorant hick and I hope karma kicks your carcass!
It was caught in a pound net, used to catch bait fish. It swam into the net. Learn what the hell you're talking about before spouting off.
Anonymous - F you.
Wow what a bitter person. You call this guy an idiot because he killed a known man eater. And you went swimming with one. Huh? You were just lucky! Karma may just bite you. Oh and by the way, in response to the shark attacking the man with eyes closed (rolled back) he seen what he wanted. Sharks can't differentiate whether the arm belonged to the fish or tman.
Everyone is a shark expert I swear. Not even marine biologists who study these fishes on a daily basis can derive to a concrete conclusion of their behaviors. They are wild animals, even if they are not wild, animals on land or water are best to be admired, not harassed, and just left alone. Mister " I want to prove a brave tough guy teasing the shark with food" got what he deserved.
You're full of testosterone, short on brains, nothing surprising for meat heads like him. But that shark has more testosterone, agility, power, and sharper teeth. As far as the Bull shark that was caught by that fisherman. Well, if you are going to eat it, then kill it obviously. But don't kill it, adn then decide whether you can make money from it, or eat it. Personally, I would have let him go, sharks aren't great tasting, and that poor thing was only venturing further to forage.
I kayak that area, jump out of the kayak and swim in that area to cool off. I've seen small sharks there before, not one of that size and species. Hmm..I guess I have to keep a better eye for you Jaws. I won't kill you, unless you're considering me for a meal. Otherwise, it's survival of the fittest, and unfortunately man prevails most of the time against nature.
Doooooggone it! Those dang sharks are gonna getcha!!!!!!!
We should respect these sharks and inform people in the area to take precaution when in the water in that area.
