Piyut Purim
And these days of Purim will never pass from among the Jews
Nor shall their memory depart from their descendants
Days of celebration are decreed and gifts of food are given
This miracle’s long ago with us today.
Help from above showing the way
Everlasting in memory megillah we say
Shushan where the Jews were redeemed
Evoking things that were not as they seemed
Day breaks slowly in our sight
Always after the dark is the light
Your faith it reveals what is right
Showing our victory over the night.
Oh how we rejoiced long ago
For Hashem once again let us know.
Passing the day of lots behind
Under the choshen we find
Revealed with Thummim in kind
Imagining wonders we unwind
Miracles and more there in mind.
Wisdom surpassingly flows
Into understanding that knows
Listen deeply where Zeir Anpin goes
Letting Shechinah move she grows.
Nukva like a fountain in the garden plays
Every turn concealing thy mysterious ways.
Visualize the image upon itself face to face
Etched within the shoham stones they trace
Rolling rivers four from Gan Eden they race.
Prepare the way the end game waits there
As all those plans of Amalek are upset where
Soaring our prayers they rise above
Sending along our message of love.
Future and past somehow merging together
Resting as one lightly joined as a feather
Offerings of incense along with the sacred flames
Myriads of permutations step inside holy names.
Achashveirosh remembers a friend
Mordecai thinks it’s the end
Only Hashem has another plan
Now revealing above his merciful hand
Granting this miracle throughout the land.
Treasured as queen she takes the ball.
Heaven steps in and makes the call.
Esther magnificent heroine to us all.
Justice throughout the kingdom prevails
Eating hammatashen shaped like sails
Wine flowing intoxicated senses play
Sending us l’chaim to celebrate this day.
