Distance and then there is distance

The further you go out into space the more the earth recedes from your view.  There is an inverse relationship then between your perceived distance of the earth and the space you are just entering into.  In this case you are leaving the earth behind in order to witness the coming vistas of the universe.

Similarly when you make that inner journey your outside world recedes giving rise to those insights that may only come when you are immersed within.  There is a difference however between these two kinds of perception.  When venturing within you are still attached to the reality of the outside world.  What you are in effect doing is to make your discoveries and then come back to clothe them in the language of the world making in essence a lifeline for further journeys as well as a descriptive reference point that then becomes the next jumping off point for subsequent forays within.

Kabbalah then provides us with the building blocks that make up the substance of that lifeline weaving its mystical points of light all along the way as markers for the unknown making in effect a map that continuously charts the unknown.

Take for example the Tree of Life diagram that shows Sephiroth ascending and descending throughout the four worlds.  When you begin to wrap your mind around this imaginative structure you find that something else is going on that is beyond the simple visualization of a diagram or the concepts along the periphery of this diagram.  What you find is that you are in effect building that diagram within with every contemplation that you may make.  If we take this principle and extend it to the thoughts we think each day then we can see how very powerful it is to have a sense of order within consciousness.  This provides a solid place to return to and build all subsequent structures called thought form upon.

This realization comes about as a result of contemplating the Tikkunei Zohar, work that only exists in Hebrew and Aramaic about which there is little English commentary.  Going through it very slowly word by word to catch the translation there is the sense of going deeper and becoming immersed within the text.  Tikkunei or Tikkun refers to correction in Hebrew and truly any study of a material this dense involves a correction or a shift in Consciousness since once having started this there may only be a sharing of light as we go along.  From time to time we will share this brilliance in these pages.

It is an exciting time to be undertaking this project and it is being done not to finish but more to discover along the way the many mystical concepts that will be explained even if those explanations do not immediately make sense except in the context of Kabbalah where if we listen well the answers are always forthcoming.

Briefly the Tikkunei Zohar was written by the Rashbi or Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai as  part of the greater compilation of studies simply called the Zohar.  Zohar means brilliance.  This brilliiance is the measuring and polishing of the intellect along with its mystical emotional counterpart.  While the Zohar itself comments on each of the various Torah portions, the Tikkunei Zohar comments on seventy different interpretations of the initial word in Torah, Bereishis.

It is quite humbling and daunting to begin this work and yet there is so much promise within that it cannot help but be exciting.  And so like the premise of the Tikkunei Zohar I begin...

Greetings from the chilly coast of the Pacific NW,

This world exists as if a bubble around the soul.

We are always in the center of that sphere. The illusion that we travel distance is only measurable as we go from a straight line towards that wall. Once we reach it, we move around inside of it thinking that we're actually going somewhere.

It takes mystical sight to see this from a distance as an observer of self rather than a particpant.

Only then does the bubble disappear and the observer and observed become one.

But you always have free will to blow another bubble...
