This great three-minute riff by George Carlin is a reminder of what an important social commentator we lost when he died a couple of years ago.
He tells us that education will never improve because the last thing the folks in power want is a population capable of critical thinking.
You know it's true, and it's at the heart of why there's no significant "change" in the nation's education policies. It explains why folks in power hate to fund schools adequately and demand "accountability" using methods that destroy rather than strengthen schools.
Anyway, I think he's right and I hope we can make him wrong before we lose too many more children.
