Jim Richards has covered junior college athletics in the Phoenix area since 1993. A former juco baseball player, Richards left the cold of Chicago for the Arizona heat in 1982 and has covered every prep sport for Arizona's two largest newspapers; the Arizona Republic and the East Valley/Mesa Tribune since 1989. He also covered the Arizona Cardinals, the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Coyotes for AccessArizona.com from 1998 through 2001, but says his most memorable gig was covering the final leg of Michael Jordan's baseball adventure with the Scottsdale Scorpions of the Arizona Fall League in 1994.
