Many large companies with several positions don’t bother to list their openings on familiar job search engines . It is costly and they often have their own well developed websites that are used for recruitment purposes. Many of the candidates that find jobs on company websites were referred by friends or associates on the inside. In effect, the jobs may get filled before you know about them.
One example, Go Daddy, currently has over 100 open positions listed on their website. You won’t often find these jobs on typical job search websites. Other companies that currently have several openings listed on their websites are American Express, E-bay / Pay Pal, Mc Donald’s, and Goodwill. (Click on the company name and you will be linked to their careers websites.) Going directly to the company website is a good way to get your resume in front of recruiters early in the process.
Another good tip when you are looking for job leads is to click on the Human Resources category of Career Builder or Jobbing.com. When companies are preparing to add employees they often start by hiring human resource professionals and recruiters to facilitate the process. Visit those company’s websites and check other open positions.
Finally, if you stumble across a company website with several openings, let me know and I will share the information in a future article. You can reach me through the “comments” box at the bottom of this page, (after all of the advertisements), or at my e-mail, dbexaminer@hotmail.com. Working together and sharing information is the best way to get back to work. Let’s see if we can generate 5 or 6 good job leads each week.
