June 2010 will continues to be a robust month for Southeastern Michigan job seekers. Although the month is more than half way complete, a number of job fairs and employment opportunities are upcoming. Various employers have openings in areas retail store management, production, supply distribution, health care, supply distribution and other open positions.

The Employment Guide/Channel 2 Job Fair on June 16, featured employers such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Dollar General, Aerotek and Diversified Industrial Staffing.

The FBI, one of the employers at the event, received phase by at least one job seeker. "I was very impressed with the number of positions the agency had opened ", stated John Lewis, a job searcher who have been seeking employment for six months, "The recruiters were very detailed and informed with information on were the opportunities were located and, what would be required to apply for the openings".

ABC Supply Sales Rep Career Fair on June 22, from 9:00am-4:00pm. The location will be at the Holiday Inn Southgate Banquet Hall & Conference Center 17201 Northline Rd Southgate, Michigan. ABC Supply claims to be America's largest wholesale distributor of roofing, siding and windows. The company was founded in 1982, has grown to be a more than $2.5 billion enterprise with exterior building material stores across the United States serving the needs of the professional contractors.

In addition to seeking inside/outside sales agents, other positions within the company include inside/outside sales, branch managers, warehouse/delivery material managers and administrative support positions. Visit the ABC Supply website to apply for the openings, prior to attending the event.

Plastipak Packaging is hosting an employment fair on June 24, from 3:00-7:00 PM at 915 N. Hix Road Westland, Michigan. The company is an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of plastic rigid containers. 

Plastipak is seeking mechanically inclined technicians in production, injection maintenance, and electrical fields. Job seekers must apply first on the Plastipak Careers website, prior to attending the event.

Technicolor is hosting a job fair on June 25, at their office location- 12802 Artesian Detroit, Michigan. The company claims to be the world’s largest film processor; the largest independent manufacturer and distributor of DVDs (including Blu-ray Disc); and, a leading global supplier of set-top boxes and gateways.

Seasonal positions that will be available at the Technicolor include production supervisors, team leaders, electrical mechanical technicians and quality control inspectors. Prior manufacturing experience is required. Onsite pre-screening will be performed to ensure only qualified applicants with a resume, are interviewed.

JARC is a health care based agency that provides quality care to people with developmental disabilities. Current openings include Respite Care Workers, Direct Support Professionals, Managers and Assistant Managers for residential facilities. The company provides benefits to all full-time employees including a no-cost medical plan, generous vacation/sick time and a competitive salary.
