The long awaited new release of Jimmy Buffett’s new CD “Buffet Hotel” is almost here; it is scheduled to be in stores on December 8th. If you are like me and just cannot wait another second, no worries! Check out this sneak preview from Mailboat Records and hear samples from all of the new songs on ‘Buffet Hotel’.
This collection includes a few songs that Jimmy premiered during the 2009 summer tour, including "Summerzcool" and "A Lot To Drink About." Guest artists on the album include Sonny Landreth, Jake Shimabukuro, Cedric Burnside, Steve "Lightnin'" Malcolm and Toumani Diabate, and was produced by long-time Coral Reefers Mike Utley and Mac McAnally.
During a trip to St. Barts last year, Jimmy Buffett already had his mind set on his new album. His goal was to write new songs that would fit in with his list of Parrot Head favorites. As soon as I heard the samples of the new songs, it immediately took me back to the older albums like “A1A” and “A White Sports Coat and a Pink Crustacean”. (The best album name ever – by the way) If you have been a Parrot Head over the years, you will love the new release for sure. If you are a newbie to the flock, sit back and listen to Jimmy’s new songs and you will then know why Coral Reeferette Nadirah Shakoor named her new CD, “Nod to the Storyteller” in his honor.
This new CD is a must have Christmas gift for all of the Parrot Heads on your shopping list!
