Recently I wrote two revealing articles about the turning of England, forced by Islamic extremists to accept some forms of Sharia and with that comes the same hatred of Jews that is now so prevalent in the Islamic world. “The Islamization of England” and “As Britain goes Muslim so does its hatred of Israel”
both showcase a change in Western civilization.
That change is not exclusive to the British Isle. The rest of Europe also is succumbing slowly to Islamic influence. One way to judge this change is the treatment of European Jews.
Last month an article in the Brussels Journal, discussed the very disturbing development of rising anti-Semitism in Europe.
Proliferated by a growing Muslim presence in Amsterdam, and buttressed by a despising Left wing gives a distinctive European element every bit as distasteful, and reminiscent of the European Nazi past 75 years ago.
“Jews are no longer safe in the Netherlands” the article begins. Jews who are identifiably Jewish wearing the kipa (traditional head covering) or orthodox Hasidim are routinely harassed on the streets of Amsterdam and other cities, by young Muslims. They are spat on, called names, hurled insults, and told “dirty Jew, go back to your own country.”
That is rather ironic since most who hold that Jews “should go back” are themselves immigrants of the last few years and the Jewish presence in the Netherlands sports a thousand year history.
Sylvia Packer who lives in Los Angeles with her husband and four children grew up in Holland about 30 miles from Antwerp. Her parents and sisters still live there with their families. She related a story where her nephew had gone to shul and was harassed by some young thugs, screaming obscenities at them.
The problem has become so acute that police have sent out undercover officers as decoys, disguised as Jews the same way they catch muggers of old people and curb attacks on prostitutes. There has been some success in reducing the number of these street crimes with this tactic.
However, the anti-Semites ace in the hole, the European left, is criticizing this policing technique claiming it violates the rights of these criminals.
I guess because they are Muslim thugs and not right wing neo Nazis they should be free to violate the rights of others any way they feel like it.
This seems to be a trend in Western Europe, especially where more and more Muslims from North Africa and the Middle East immigrate. In Belgium the problem may be worse since Jews believe their physical well being is threatened. Many of them are leaving that country to the United States, Israel and England.
Going to England however, might be not the best place to go since it is not that far behind the continent in its anti-Semitic rise.
Jacques Wenger, the director of Shomre Hadas in Antwerp is leaving for Israel and says that Jews are “leaving in droves.” The article relates Wenger’s attitude about the problem saying “if the current trend continues, in fifty years’ time there will be no Jews left in Antwerp except for the ultra-orthodox.”
The Brussels Journal article’s author Paul Belien, ended with this ominous note “It is often said that the Jews are the canary in the coalmine. When the Jews feel compelled to leave, the light of freedom is being extinguished… Once again, the specter of anti-Semitism is haunting Europe. If the Europeans do not stand with the Jews, they deserve no freedom themselves and cities such as Amsterdam and Antwerp will soon be Islamic cities.”
