Even if the number of guests on your list is too small to interests a professional printer, you can still have beautiful invitations without paying the premium required for small runs. You can find high quality paper invitation kits that include the envelops and reply cards online and at stores that carry stationery products. They often come in quantities of 50, but some are even available in smaller quantities, which is useful for really small parties or if you realize you have 55 guest to invite. If you have the patience and handwriting for it, you can hand write each one for a truly personalized touch, or just print off your computer. Even a standard word processing program includes several elegant fonts to choose from.
When preparing a bar mitzvah with a guest list that fell short of the minimum number we were quoted for printed invitations, we picked out an ivory invitation pack of 50 a our local Michael’s,. At $29.99, it was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive one available. You can also find such kits at Office Max , Staples and Wal-mart, both in the stores and online. They range from 10 to 50 in a pack, though, generally the price comes out to a range of $1 or less per invitation, including the envelopes and response cards.. The most expensive one I've seen recently is a package of 25 for just over $36 at Staples.
The invitations we selected turned out at least as attractive as many standard printed invitations; we got a number of compliments on them. M. We came up with the text and tried out various fonts to arrive at one that was both elegant and easily readable. Do bear in mind that highly embroidered fonts are sometimes difficult to read, and you do want your guests to know exactly what they are invited for and when to come. To save time printing out our address twice for each invitation, we ordered a custom stamp with our name and address in attractive italicized letters from Iprint.com for about $14. We ordered black ink, as the invitations were printed out in black. But you can order custom stamps in blue, purple or other colors, and you can print your own invitations in any color your home printer can handle. It is also possible to print out a monogram just as you would any other picture or PDF on your computer.
So if you are thinking small, also think Do It Yourself when it comes to invitations for beautiful results at an affordable price.
