The Jersey Shore casting director who's recently been quoted and re-quoted about MTV getting rid of the entire original cast of Jersey Shore says he's been misquoted.
Today, in an effort to stop the outcry over rumors that Snooki, Mike "The Situation," JWoWW and the rest of the reality guidos are being fired, casting director Doron Ofir took to Twitter. "LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR! Blackbook Mag got it WRONG!" Ofir tweeted, "I am casting 4 the current season Jersey Shore not a 3rd season & not a whole new cast!"
As Examiner.com reported Blackbook Magazine quoted Ofir, in an article published last week, saying he was casting an entire new cast for a third season of the reality show. MTV has continually denied they're cleaning house or that they're only renewing some of the Jersey Shore stars' contracts. In fact the network has said there are no plans for a third season of Jersey Shore at this time.
This isn't the first time Doron Ofir has had to clarify statements he's made about Jersey Shore. The casting director also found it necessary to reiterate that a new show he described as a 'Jersey Shore' spin-off isn't actually related to MTV. "Setting the record straight!!," Ofir tweeted on April 16, "Wicked Cool Summer is NOT Jersey Shore! Not for #MTV."
