December 26 - Only a year ago, Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson set the record for highest grossing film debut on Christmas Day in North America with Marley & Me earning $14.7 million. However, yesterday, Sherlock Holmes, the new film starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, stole that title away from Marley & Me with a whopping $24.9 million in sales. James Cameron's Avatar came in a close second with $23.5 million.
All films showing yesterday overall grossed $16 million more than last year. The entire movie industry has seen a record year in 2009 with annual film revenues in the U.S. and Canada reaching the $10 billion mark for the first time ever last week.
Directed by Guy Ritchie, Sherlock Holmes received one Golden Globe nomination for Robert Downey Jr. as Best Actor in a musical or comedy film.

Jennifer is a talentless clingy whimp that men all run from - really does anyone still like her? Yuck she makes most people want to vomit - Brad Pitt is so much happier now, at least that is one good thing.
