This evening, Congressional District 7 Candidate, Lang Sias, will greet a number of guests at a local Golden coffee shop. Questions for the new face will be many and varied. Lang Sias is one of two very remarkable choices before the voters of Congressional District 7. As yet Sias’ list of endorsements, to include former Congressman Tom Tancredo, remains meager as compared to Ryan Frazier’s list of support. Even so interest in the former Topgun instructor seems to be mounting.
Sias, a veteran of multiple mid-east deployments, boasts of record of success in leadership few could compete with but his former association with the McCain Presidential Campaign will prove an unending hurdle for the Democrat turned Republican. Still, in a district where the spread of D’s, R’s and U’s is fairly evenly distributed, some wonder if his perspective might lend to his credibility. Former McCain supporter or not, Sias has consistently attributed his commitment to small government and abhorrence of the current national deficit as one of his primary reasons for entering the race. If that is the case, his commitment to private sector support along with his record of across-the-board leadership could prove a powerful recipe for Congressional District 7 Constituents.
Still, he is up against a well-liked and heavily supported candidate. Perhaps were it any other election cycle, Sias would have been moved to the back burner by now. 2010 is however, like no other election cycle. Voters seem more determined than ever to scrutinize their options, vet their candidates and have their voices heard. And in that spirit the American Cincinnatus Project will be welcoming him this evening at Golden’s own, Golden Grounds Coffee at 2421 Ford Street in Golden. Located directly across the street from Golden High School, voters will gather around 5:30pm for a short meet and greet phase before transitioning into a question and answer phase. The primary objective of the American Cincinnatus Project is to facilitate interaction between voter and candidate. Just as Candidate Sias seeks office as a Citizen Statesmen, The A.C.P. seeks service as a Citizen Government and we look forward to your participation in that effort.
