From the 1970s to 1980s, Seawind ruled the airwaves in Hawaii and parts beyond, along with Cecilio and Kapono, Kalapana and Krush. Growing up during this time period was a blessing for the millions of local kids going to school, tuning out and grooving out, and accepting Jesus Christ into their lives with the help of Youth for Christ’s Campus Life.
What the younger set didn’t realize back then was that they had the privilege of listening to an original band with an innovative approach to music, combining gospel-ballad, pop-funk, a little Hawaiiana, with jazz in the brilliant vocals of soprano, island beauty Pauline Wilson and the tight, full sound of the horn section. Even today, their hits remain classics, from “The Devil Is A Liar” and “He Loves You,” to “Light The Light” and “Window Of A Child,” crossing over from Christian music into the mainstream, across oceans from the islands to the Mainland.
Great news for Seawind fans, old and new: after over 23, 29 years, the band recently reunited, performed two sold-out concerts at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts in California, while premiering new arrangements and new songs from their latest “Reunion” CD—on sale now for $15.
“Reunion” is truly a collaborative effort, amongst the band members and some famous fans, like Al Jarreau. Jarreau lent his jazz vocals to God’s jazz anthem, “He Loves You,” a blend of fluid, uplifting keys, in a duet with the intoxicating Pauline Wilson. Also included in this 12-song CD is the monster hit all the Hawaii high school seniors had playing at their proms and graduation ceremonies, “Follow Your Road,” as well as the chicken-skin-inducing indictment against sin, “The Devil Is A Liar,” all updated.

I've never heard of Seawind, but will look them up now. Cool that they've reunited. Hey, I remember "You're My Everything!"
