Sometimes you here a CD and you say to yourself, this is pretty good. That is how I thought about "Astral 22Presents...Imperial". The 15 song CD was released this past August. Armand Tulumello (aka) Astral 22 produced the CD. He is a songwriter, producer and founder of the record label Trans Phatt Records.
Astral 22 is a Queens, New York native who began composing and recording songs at eleven years old. He lives in Los Angeles now and has brought the music style that he grew with in New York. That is melodies that reach the depths of the soul. He was inspired by R&B, Gospel, Jazz, Hip Hop, Blues and rhythms of African Diaspora.
The CD has songs that are soulful, smooth and enjoyable. The "Imperial Theme" song has that "old school" flavor about it. There are some other tunes that have that feel as well. You can dance to the groove of "From Me To You" featuring the voice of Shanell Rene'e and the slow jam "Do You Wanna" with LeNora Jaye on vocals. I'd like to thank fellow Atlanta Music Examiner Khem Na'khi for recommending this CD.
