Lord knows how jazz station KCSM manages to keep going in an economic climate like this, but let's be thankful that whatever magic they're performing works.
You can show your appreciation Tuesday by turning out for the KCSM Holiday Rent Party, featuring performances by local aces such as chanteuse Kim Nalley, stride pianist Mike Lipskin, blues belter Lavay Smith and her Red Hot Skillet Lickers and more.
Shows are at 8 and 10 p.m. at Yoshi's Oakland, and the $35 ticket price goes to help keep one of the best jazz radio outlets in the country on the air.
