Is Jay Leno ready for Rush Limbaugh? (souce: bighollywood)
Where Rush Limbaugh goes, controversy follows.
Thursday night, Jay Leno welcomes the conservative talk icon on his prime time talk show experiment, The Jay Leno Show.
The booking comes as a surprise to many, as Limbaugh hadn't been a very close friend to the Tonight Show since Leno assumed hosting duties in 1992.
In recent years, Limbaugh has made far more memorable appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman. Why so memorable? Because Letterman pokes at Limbaugh - something Leno doesn't do frequently, or comfortably.
Unlike Letterman, who is more than comfortable prying, arguing, and picking apart Rush's arguments, Leno could prove a "sitting duck" for Limbaugh who, as some believe, could be doing the Leno show to verbally slap Jay around a bit.
Jay Leno, who has largely been a favorable commentator on all things Obama since the 2008 election, may have quite the challenge on his hands tonight.
Is Rush Limbaugh coming to Jay for a casual interview or for a frank political discussion with the most apolitical man on television?
We'll find out tonight.

Comments
David Letterman could never tear apart Rush's arguments with actual fact or opinion. He just makes a joke and all the moronic sheep in the liberal audience start clapping and laughing because that's what the blinking sign is telling them to do.
Agree with Robert, Letterman is a hack, Leno is a pro and is smart enough to know that Rush will give his sagging rating a boost. Leno just plays the hollywood game. His bank account is full on millions of TV money he has never spent. Leno lives off his comedy tour money. Now how can someone that smart be stupid enough to openly criticize Obama. At least not yet.
Letterman has, for some odd reason, taken on the mantle of the witty Bill Moyers. He's in waaayyyyy over his head despite the whoops from his Leftie syncophants in the audience.
Rush will (politely but with energy) slice and dice Mr. Leno.
Leno has lost one viewer regardless of his intentions. I will never support anyone who gives attention to the moron Limbaugh. Rush Limbaugh is a entertainer...period. Who cares about his "arguments"? Dittoheads. And that says it all.
To 'mom'
Rush is far from a moron. You obviously are one of those moron liberals who are ruining this country.
To 'jeff'
Not criticize Obama yet? OMG, he's added to the deficit by four times! He just gave the most horrible speech at the UN crediting only himself for anything great that Amercia has done. There's a hell of a lot to criticize. Talk about a moron!

I was watching the Jay Leno Show when Rush came on. He (Limbaugh) proceeded to blabber his usual opinions. I turned off the show. Limbaugh is an idiot and he doesn't belong in a place like the Leno show. What was JL thinking?!!
Good Rush was on the show - just confirmed how much of moron Rush is... lost 82 pounds - OMG, I agree with Howard Stern - HE IS ONE BIG turd!
How could Leno be "the most apolitical man on television" if he "has largely been a favorable commentator on all things Obama since the 2008 election"?
Pete, fall of a cliff and die.
On the Jay Leno show, Rush Limbaugh (aka. Rash Lingo) complained that government involvement in health care would infringe on our American freedoms by forcing the elimination of vices that endanger good health. Isnt it interesting that this is the same Rash Lingo who endorsed former President George W. Bush when he told the American people that they would have to give up freedoms for the sake of safety from the angry Terrorists he and Cheney incited against us.
Pete, did I strike your nerves? Rush Limbaugh and all of his following dittoheads are idiots personified. YOUR words are IDENTICAL to his. Rush Limbaugh is a ENTERTAINER, and you IDIOTS keep on lining his pockets. Luckily, there's many more of us out here who are smart enough to spot a moron when we hear one. Luckily, WE WON! GOBAMA!!!
And another thing: I always wonder why the loud mouth trouble stirring moron can't walk the walk instead of always TALKING THE TALK. He can't. If Rush knows so much and if Rush has all the right answers, why isn't he doing something in the political realm? He's a coward that's why. He's a spineless, drug addicted, wanna be MORON! He once challenged The President all the while knowing he wouldn't have a chance in he!!. He blabbers on and on on his show yet anyone who disagrees with his twisted views is cut off. If he ain't in control, he ain't gonna do it. That....is a coward.
Wow, looks like I hit YOUR nerve that time, mom. Why do you bleeding heart hypocrites usually resort to name calling and statements like 'go jump off a cliff?' Our nation is in deep trouble. I suppose we get what we asked for 'change.' You know, Obama is apologizing for America and sucking up to nations who support terroists. How anyone can call Rush a MORON is just that. He is right; the truth will prevail but at a terrible cost. I didn't mean to offend anyone. We're going down as a nation so my advice is draw closer to God. Rush is just a voice speaking a lot of truth and there are millions who agree. That's all.
More millions disagree. Hypocrits? God? lololololhahahahaha! If it was worth the argument, I could go on all day. Since I know it's useless, best wishes.
Mom: Rush doesn't enter politics because he doesn't want to take the pay cut. And your words are IDENTICAL to the left wing lunitics that argue with personal attacks and name calling instead of intelligent discussions. But as you said, it is not worth your time...All of the left wing comments here are just name calling...nothing of any worth or substance...kinda like those lefties in office! Pete...you are right on!
Right, exactly. Rush doesn't care about the country; rather, he cares ONLY about his own pockets. Thanks for clarifying.
Mom: You have just confirmed that you have been drinking the kool-aid. Rush is only perfecting the capitalistic opportunity that we are all offered in this great nation, which is what has you in such a tizzy. Rush is a business person first, entertainer second....something all of us have the opportunity to accomplish, well, until the current administration started taking over private businesses and nationalizing large corporations, limiting executive pay, bailing out companies that have been a part of the current financial situation in this country, etc.etc.etc. I could go on and on. Class envy is a horrible thing.....

Is he right to lay all of the blame for the sub-prime mortgage crisis on Dodd, Frank, and Clinton when the kinds of mortgages that were so problematic weren't even LEGAL until Reagan made them legal? Does it make complete sense to say that Social Security and Medicare are bankrupt when they are not? Does it make complete sense to believe that the market is some kind of magical, mystical, always good force when we've clearly witnessed major market failures. It's not like we don't know why markets are good things. There are lots of mathematical reasons that markets are good things... IF all the conditions of free markets are met. When those conditions are not met, markets work less well, if at all. But I suppose that type of stuff is too complicated for most Rush listeners to think about. Lastly, Rush actually said that Bush kept us safe. Last time I che
mom, I agree. Arguing does no good. You put a question mark after 'hypocrites' and 'God'. Maybe you aren't a hypocrite, I apologize. I am speaking in generalities and I do find obvious hypocracy in the left wing movement- but with the right is also. To me, it's just more obvious with this liberal administration which has the media on its side. Rush or no Rush, our country is in serious trouble and the REAL idiot is OBAMA. As for Bush and Cheney inciting the terrorists, my question is, 'who is inciting them now'? As for 'God,' all I am saying is that this nation has forgotten it's roots and more importantly, God. As one person stated years ago, 'A nation who doesn't have God (the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) as their god, had better have a good military.' I hope people remember to get on their knees and ask the Almighty to intervene and be part of this nation again. Obama was right, we need 'change.' But the change needs to be 'repentance'. If not, we are doomed as a nation.
Matt,
I hear from where you come. I don't agree with Rush on everything. We cannot blame all our problems on Democrats. Did you know that the Bush admin warned Barney Frank and his cohorts about Fanny and Freddie? It's on tape and Frank spoke as an idiot saying there was nothing to worry about and evenso, the Feds would never bail them out. What a mess. But how can anyone support the trillions that Obama has already spent? And why is he so hell bent on this healthcare so quickly and dragging his feet on the WAR and ACORN? I firmly believe that we are under spiritual delusion and when we fall, maybe THEN we'll ALL wake up. We are ALL Americans and so torn apart. I feel sad for us all. I am truly sorry if I offended anyone. Pete

That is the beauty of this country. The ability for U.S citizens to talk about whatever they want with out limitations...well, for the most part BUT!! all you Obama supporters tell me, if you would pick just one thing that the great Obama has done that has made our country better and I will convert and support Obama's plan for our coutry. JUST ONE!! ONE THAT EVEN I CAN DISPUTE..
MOM OR OLD AL GOT ANYTHING?????????????????????????????
My mistake I ment even I can not dispute on the last part of my comment
Apolitical? I'm pretty sure Leno is a well-known supporter of the Democratic Party.
LOL!!!I AGREE RIGHT. How quick they start all them name calling instead of dealing with the real problems with our country. I am still waiting for all of you Obama supporters to give me just one thing that obama has done that our coutry that has made us better...come on I know you guys are out there
And do not give me Bush caused this and that speech. I am are talking about the choices that Obama has made since he took the office.
I was disappointed that you had a quest of Limbaugh's charter. I thought Jay's interview was week and he let Limbaugh ratter on, although Jay tried. When David Letterman interviewed Bill O'Reilly, Letterman kept him under control, and had sharp amswers for O'Reilly. Next time NBC wants to give Limbaugh air time, which I hope they don't. Give Limbaugh to Oldermann!
Hi Duke,
Let's see what Obama has done to make our country better? Hmm...guess you got me there. But oh how he's setting us up for a great fall! BTW, one official was quoted saying that we can thank the BUSH admin. for the programs in place that have helped them catch these RECENT terrorists! Same programs OBAMAnation wants to do away with. I sure hope the IDIOT 'annointed one' reconsiders.
Have you noitced the difference in the Washington March (which was barely covered by the 'state-run media' and the March in Pittsburg?? hmmmm... Lots of evil out there. These idiots are even protesting capitalism. Why don't they all go to a non-capitalist nation and be happy???
To Jay Leno,
Thanks for having Mr. Limbaugh. We love him! And Jay, I think you're getting too much of the pie too! ha. just kidding.
Would someone please explain to me, what are Limbaugh's religious views? He seems to believe in God, but what is his understanding of God?
My understanding is that God is Love, and that God wants us to love one another, and to take care of each other's basic needs. He wants us to feed the hungry, help the sick, etc.
From what I understand of Limbaugh's philosophy, he does want the market to take on this role, because "The market's not about needs." He also seems to oppose most government efforts to meet people's needs. Why? I think God wants us to help each other in any way we can. Why wouldn't God want us to use all of our major institutions, including business and government, as a manifestation of our care for one another?
I understand objecting to specific government programs. I understand wanting to balance compassion with a measure of fiscal responsibility. But Limbaugh's pro-market philosophy seems to go well beyond that. Does he think God just wants us to make money?
Rush said "If the government gets control of health care, that's the single best way that they get to control every aspect of our lives: what we eat, what we drive -- because it will all have impact on health care costs, their responsibility via our taxes, and it's just a mechanism whereby government grows and grows and grows and we lose liberty and freedom to it."
Is there any evidence of this happening in the world? So many leading capitalist countries have government involved in their healthcare. Canada? UK? Germany? Netherlands? France? Are these not capitalist countries with personal freedoms? Government controlling what we eat? what we drive?
How do people believe this fool?
Pete, even the republican leaders didn't want to get associated with the "Washington March". Which republican leaders attended the march?
And which programs Obama wants to abolish that helped in catching these terrorists? Please be more specific. Is that disallowing torture? Is that disallowing wiretapping US citizens without warrants? Closing of Guantanamo Bay?
BTW, if these terrorists had succeeded, you and Rush Limbaugh would be the first one shouting from the roof-tops about Obama's failure. But now that they are caught, Bush gets the credit? The credit goes to the law enforcement officers who are doing their job irrespective of who is their president. Please name one policy change proposed which would have made them not catch these terrorists.
NM says, "So many leading capitalist countries have government involved in their healthcare. Canada? UK? Germany? Netherlands? France? Are these not capitalist countries with personal freedoms?"
Yes, I was wondering the same thing when I say the show last night. From what I've heard, France has quite the nationalized healthcare program--but they have yet to outlaw brie and cigarettes.
I once had a conversation with two Australians about health care. Overall, they were quite satisfied with their system. They said they could go into any clinic and get the health care they needed. No one was restricting their choice of doctor.
Meanwhile, here in the US, I was struggling with a chronic condition, and having to deal with the HMO bureacracy. Once I went to my doctor's appointment, only to be told that I couldn't see my doctor, because he was no longer in my medical group. The Australians I talked to were baffled, and said they never had to deal with anything like that.

Duke, Obama has only been in office a few months. Why are you so harsh on him so quickly? You asked for just one thing that Obama has done. Its a reasonable question, so lets take a look at it.
Well, one thing is to bring some honest humility and an unpretentious working attitude to the White House. Along with that, he has changed the Presidency from being an arbitrary aristocracy to one of listening to others. His Ordinaryship is a welcome, refreshing, openness compared to the smug, strutting, (they just call it walking in Texas), arrogant, alleged righteously indignant, warmongering, pretentious, wanna-bee steroidal aberration who previously inhabited the White House. GW came across as the spoiled brat kid of a former President who aspired to higher than his intellect allowed while trying to imitate his mentor Arnold Schwarzeneggar at a time when JINSA was looking for a patsy to do their dirty work.
Who is JINSA? Look it up. That ought to provoke more questions.

OBAMA WON THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION!!! Swallow that.

I suppose every president should have gotten the Peace Prize. What a stupid thing to say, 'mom.'
Supporting Obama is wanting the failure of America.
