Jason Mraz writes song for 'healthy living' documentary

Jason Mraz recently posted on his Twitter page that he wrote a song called "What Would Love Do" for an upcoming documentary called "May I Be Frank". The documentary is about a group of young vegans in San Francisco attempting to transform the life of an overweight, out of shape 54-year-old Italian man from Brooklyn, New York named Frank Ferrante.

Jason Mraz has been eating a healthy vegan raw food diet since April 2008 when his sidekick, percussionist and backup vocalist, Toca Rivera, discovered he was diabetic. They started this diet together while on the road during a previous concert tour.

"May I Be Frank" fits in with the healthy lifestyle that Mraz trys to promote with his casual observations and friendly advice he sometimes offers in-between songs during his concerts or on his online journal. He has named his upcoming tour the "Gratitude Cafe Tour" which is inspired by Cafe Gratitude, a holistic chain of organic food cafes based in San Francisco.

The founders of Cafe Gratitude, Matthew and Terces Engelhart, created a transformational workbook and game called "Abounding River" which offer an interactive way to practice abundance in your life. The mission of the documentary is to help Frank Ferrante, an ex-drug addict who is suffering from Hepatitis C, to transform his life physically and mentally following the Cafe Gratitude guidelines, or in a nutshell "raw food and affirmations for 42 days."

Mraz debuted his song "What Would Love Do" for the documentary at an event in San Francisco sponsored by The Grateful Mind and Body Health Collective, a group of holistic health practitioners emphasizing healthcare for the mind, body and spirit. The event was held on May 21 and featured performances by The Makepeace Brothers, Bushwalla and Justin Kredible.

The film, May I Be Frank, is in need of donations in order to be completed.
