C. Allyn Pierson is the pen name of physician Carey A. Bligard, who has combined her many years of interest in the works of Jane Austen and the history of Regency England into a sequels to Pride and Prejudice.

Currently practicing dermatology in Fort Dodge, Iowa for the past 22 years, she grew up in Oregon and Hawaii and obtained a bachelors degree in biology at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. She attended medical school at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, and specialized in Dermatology at Tulane University Affiliated Hospitals in New Orleans, Louisiana. She has traveled on medical mission trips all over the world and has been the medical director and physician for 8 missions to Nicaragua in the past 5 years.
Carey has two sons: the eldest is a senior at the University of Iowa. Her younger son has autism and attends a sheltered workshop in Fort Dodge. Carey is married to Dr. Eric Bligard, an eye surgeon. They share their home with two dogs. When she is not writing, Pierson enjoys playing the piano and violin, crocheting her original designs and (of course) reading.
C. Allyn Pierson is represented by Nicholas Croce of The Croce Agency and is listed on the Iowa Center for the Book Iowa Author List. She is a life member of the Jane Austen Society of North America and The Republic of Pemberley. She is also a proud member and contributor to the Society for the Promotion of Good Grammar.
